Recently came into ownership of my first Z, an 83 280ZX (I'll add a photo, super excited to get into this one). Having issues with the clutch (bear with me, still learning this kind of thing; engagement issues, car is creeping forward with the pedal completely depressed. Has good pressure but seems to be "backwards" for lack of a better term) and from what I've read on this forum and others it seems like my clutch is knackered. I've replaced the master & slave cylinders and all the lines but I've still got nothing. Previous owner wasn't very mechanically inclined so he never messed with it, no swapping of parts or anything. It was slipping like crazy when I got it home, i could barely move it around the driveway. Was planning to do a clutch and cylinders/lines anyways but I'll quit rambling, here's my question;
Has anyone here used any of the ACT clutch kits made for the 280zx/L28? I have the same kit in my paseo and I love it, over 20k miles on that one and it feels as good as the day I put it in. I would just go off of that and grab it but I'm fearing fitment issues after reading up on some of the other people on the forum's misfortunes with the wrong parts, mainly concerning the collar heights and such. If anyone's got one let me know what you think and if you had any issues, I'm referring to the heavy duty sprung kit linked below. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits end trying to figure this clutch out and I've had it for less than a week lol
