Hi, I just purchased a very nice 1979 zx and am puzzled about vin id. Car is equipped with ac,ps,and 5-speed. According to manual the letters h-l-f-b-c should be in vin. vin shows hs130, and only numbers. The vin matches in all places on car. Can anyone explain?

My header has returned from Jet-Hot Coatings in Tempe, after two and a half weeks. It looks really nice!! Here is a picture of it.... Header: $200 Jet-Hot Sterling coating: $300 Knowing it won't rust away in a few years: Priceless The installation went a lot quicker than the removal of the old exhaust manifold. Of course I had several weeks to prepare everything as I noted in my previous post. Got a couple new studs and a new set of exhaust nuts at the Nissan dealer. After touching up

My '74 260Z has some noticeable exhaust leaks that I've been ignoring since I woke it up from an 11 year nap in 2006. Well, I finally decided to roll my sleeves up and see what kind of damage I could really do to the system.... My wife was off work for spring break a couple weeks ago so that's when I decided to start this project. Being able to use the car she drives to get to work as necessary was the deciding factor. I put the car up on jack stands and removed the single (the other two wer

I just purchased my z 3 weeks ago. I want to do a lot of work to it but of course time and money will tell how far I get. My biggest problem right now is getting it to idle just right. Well, my entry into the Z world kind of came by lucky accident I guess you could say. Back in 2002 I started yearning to have a 'fun' car again. Something that I could play around with and not have to rely on as my daily driver. A bit of history on the cars I've owned. In the past I have a few 'fun' cars. I've been the owner of such cars, to name just a few, as a pristine 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix with 23,000 miles in 1986, a 1976 Camaro LT (a 4-speed car sold in California), a 1976 Firebird Formu

Our car started out as a pretty nice so-cal rust free example. The plan for the car is to strip it down, gut it out and prep it for Works style Carbon Fiber over fenders, G-nose, race style interior, 3.1 stroker motor, coil overs, Mikuni 44s, custom JDM header and exhaust, brand new euro tail lights with Carbon Fiber surround, 16" Panasports, plus tons of JDM parts collected over the last 20 years by the car's owner. I am the project manager, assembler, parts collector and storage. The owner

a club member found this car sitting, and stopped to check it out. talking with the previous owner,he learned that the car was going to be sold. taking pictures, getting the owner's name and number,he posted the info incase any club member might be interested. the history of the car, if correct as told by the p o is that it was being driven by the Datsun owner's son, and two years old when he bought it. the car was driven for approximately ten years, showing 108 k miles on the odometer when i
