I'm the new guy around here. My son and I recently purchased a 73 240. all orig. except for 1 door or latch. Tires maybe the exhaust.

We need help with the carbs. Supposedly were rebuilt, but it's not running right. needs brakes, There is a brake in the line somewhere.

The paint is really good. And the interior is as well. Carpets are dry rotted. No rust anywhere. Car is sort of a barn find. Old timer had it. He bought it about 10 or 15 years ago. painted it and has basically been sitting there. 43,000 original miles.

Beautiful car and I think more than worthy of being showcase material.

Any help or direction for parts and supplies would be great, And also what is acceptable to change out and whats not.

Thank You, Bill

I've been through what most have with these. I have 2 1973 z's. One i've had for about 2 years, the other I got 2 weeks ago. Your issue may not be carbs at all but rather fuel delivery. I've had to drop, clean and one tank I had to send to moyer fuel tanks to have it reconditioned. Rust kept plugging up the fuel feed lines and filters. The other thing you need to check is the ignition. All the tuners recommend, adjust valves, set ignition, tune carbs. In that order. Carbs are last. Post some pics if you can. If the carbs are the culprit they are fairly simple once you get over the anxiety of taking them off and tearing them apart. I start from top to bottom on a long beach towel and disassemble them and lay the peices in order I took them off, then reverse. Good luck!
