  • Protect yourself

Avoid scams, deal locally.  Beware wiring (e.g. Western Union), cashier checks, money orders, store debit cards, etc.  If someone asks you to use Paypal, Venmo, or other online money transfer process, make sure you protect yourself in case the product(s) do not show up.  For example, do not use the Paypal Friends and Family transfer option because you cannot get a refund if the product does not show up.  Refer to this link for more information about online security and protecting yourself against purchase scams.  Likewise if you are going to meet someone for an in-person transaction, refer to this link for advice.

Description

1973 240Z project for sale - many NOS parts and goodies

For sale is a 1973 240z, originally in Red110 and a black interior.  The car was complete, and has been professionally disassembled with all parts and hardware catalogued for reassembly.  I removed the engine, transmission, and seats, and the restoration shop did the rest.  The car has been media blasted and primed, but needs metal work.  The primary problem areas are the floors, frame rails, and rear fenders.  The rockers and inner fenders are in good shape.  I had planned to go through with a complete restoration, but things have changed and I can’t complete the project.  Worse yet, I have no room for storage to get back to it later.  The car is stripped all the way down, but the wheels are on so it can be rolled around.

The good:
-Car was complete before disassembly
-Interior and dash is in great shape (other than some cracked vinyl on the drivers seat)
-dealer installed BRE style spoiler
-early carburetors (1971.5 I think?)
-I believe the stock L24 has an upgraded cam, but not 100% sure.  I found some cam paperwork from the original owner in the glove box
-lots of parts!

The bad:
-needs metal work (floors, frame rails, rear fenders, drivers door, hatch
-needs header and exhaust (I recycled the last one since I planned on buying a new system)

The parts: (not an all inclusive list)
-NOS emblems, various
-NOS LSD (2-pinion)
-NOS 4.11 gear set
-NOS Datsun Clarion radio.  Also what appears to be the stock AM radio
-NOS engine gaskets, brake cylinders, clutch slave cylinder, U-joints, etc
-BRE style front splitter
-NOS interior trim bits, seat hinge covers, kick plates, chrome vents
-weather stripping set
-extra complete center console
-NOS fuse box
-a bunch of used stock hubcaps
-factory AC parts (if you are into that sort of thing)
-2 sets of clear headlight covers (old style with hardware)
-Various other NOS and non-NOS parts and bits
-Factory 1973 240z service manual

I’d love to sell it as a complete project, but I will part out if it doesn’t sell.  I'm starting with the forums for a week or so, then heading to eBay.

$6500 for everything, or best offer

The car and most everything is located in Rochester Hills, MI, while the engine, transmission, seats, and extra parts are at my place in Southfield, MI (20 mins from the shop)
