Hello, I've just imported a 240Z from the US (Cal) to the UK. I read on another site that there was a guide on this site to modifying USA spec lights to UK spec (ie: remove the day running lights but still able to use the indicators). There's thousands of threads to do with lighting but the search words I've used can't locate it and I've looked through the various sections with no success. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me figure how my alternator is wired the way it is and still working. My car is a 77 and has been swapped to the internally regulated unit. According to the write up on Atlantic z, the wires to be connected from the harness side are 2 to 3 and 1 to 5. My car has wire number 5 connected to wire number 6 with a diode in between. I am curious how this is working and I realize that my brake check warning lamp and voltmeter light arent working but it does not currently affect the way the car runs it is however hard to start when cold and when I say cold I mean sat overnight regardless of the outside temperature.

I've been diagnosing a brake light issue that recently came to light...... I finally managed to get my passenger side brake light working but the driver's side is still having issues. Turn signals, hazards, and tail lights work on both sides. The driver's side brake light will work if I apply power direclty from the battery. I have power at the wire for the driver's side brake light, however, if I then connect the wire to the light, the voltage drops to zero. Remove the wire, and the voltage returns. It only took me 6 hours to diagnose that issue. Does anyone have an idea as to the cause for this perplexing problem?

I recently changed the head gasket on my motor and so had most of the big items in the engine bay removed. 72 240z. On getting it going again I broke down due to a flat battery and can remember the turn signals were still working at the time. At this point alternator wasn't charging anymore I guess. I charged the car up and drove at night where it rained heavily and almost broke down again due to flat battery and from then on my turn signals have stopped also. I'm really bad with electricals and have no idea where to start looking. I'm thinking it's probably best to get help on finding out why the alt has stopped charging. The alternator is only 1yr old and is the ol…

]Just thinking out loud here, air, fuel and spark are all you need to make an engine run. Lots of air, K&N filters with no obstructions. Fuel, even if the new fuel pump wasn't working and it is, the float bowls are full, I can see it with the jet cover off so there would be enough fuel for a 1/2 min. or so. Spark, it starts and runs at high rpm, could there be some condition where the spark is less at low rpm or after the key is released? To see the whole story, http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/help-me/49271-engine-will-only-run-above-4000-rpm-carbs-timing.html#post429569 Thanks, Chris

Has anyone ever written up a detailed account how to installed a automatic locking system on Z. I looked allthrough the threads really can't find a detailed written up step by step. Specify which hardware how does it all hook up. How did they drill the hole from through the door jam. You know a real detailed right up. Here are some of the hardware that I've been recommended to use. Viper 211HV (P/N# 412V) High-quality universal door lock actuator - two wire with mounting hardware. GALAXY DLRM DOOR LOCK RELAY KIT I have lots of questions like what's the difference between the two wire accelerator and a five wire one, can't find anything about the differences. I can do …

Problem: I checked continuity between terminals 6 and 27 at the ECU - it failed Diagnosing Attempts: 1) I checked the continuity between terminal 6 and 27 on the Air Flow meter - it passes (sensor is good) 2) I jumped terminal 6 and 27 on the harness connector and checked the continuity - it passes (harness from ECU to Air Flow meter is good) Therefore it must be the corrosion between the harness and the AFM. 3) I replaced the connector on the harness with a brand new connector and all new terminals. I cleaned the male terminals on the AFM and lubed them up with dielectric grease. And it FAILED continuity between terminals 6 and 27 when measured at the ECU. What is goi…

I found a speaker wire tapped into a blue wire of the Hazard SW Harness. It feds to one led on the Brake SW. While one of the Y on Blk Break SW wires dangled and the other was connected to the Break SW led. I've tried the following combinations and I can not get the break lights to work: 1) Spk wire from Harzard Harness and one Y on Blk wire = make the rely click every 5 seconds but no brake lights 2) Spk wire from Harzard Harness and the onther Y on Blk wire = no break lights 3) Both Y on Blk wires to the break SW = no brake lights I attached a picture for reference. Any thoughts? Thanks RobertBrake SW.pdf

Hello, I'm struggling at tracing one white on green wire and one melted black wire, in the FSM & posted wire diagrams, that have been broken. They are dangling under the dash. I attached a picture. Can you take a look and offer any suggestions? Thanks Robert Wires Under Dash.pdf
