Ok. So I'm slowly trying to get my Z working. Can someone please explain how to adjust the headlights. At the moment with the normal beams on the lights are pointed way to the left. With high beams they point straight ahead but still a bit to the left. I don't have regular headlights but the H4 conversion ones. Not exactly sure what kind as I bought them with the car. Any help would be great Jan

It's on pg. 51 of the VB catalog Z.45 (accessories section) Does anybody know what this is about? It's supposed to connect direct to the battery, has relays for both low- and high-beams, and "OE-style headlight sockets?" no splicing or cutting? Only $30!?? Makes you wonder...

On eBay, you don't see any driving lamps (lights); they're always listed as driving/fog lights. Can anyone explain why? An example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hella-Optilux-Rectangular-Driving-Lamps-Fog-Lights-1402_W0QQitemZ170318575682QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27a7c73842 Most items on eBay are HID-simulations with bluish lenses. Are these lamps supposed to be dual-purpose, and can be used as either fog lamps or driving lamps? My take on driving lamps is that they have a fairly narrow projection angle and a brighter beam than fog lamps, and are mounted higher. My goal is to put some driving lamps on the 280Z to augment the h…

I have a 1977 280z. I have replaced the fusable links and cleaned the wires the best I could but the old wires are so corroded I'm not getting a good connection. Any ideas? I'm losing voltage somewhere also, I think it might have something to do with the radio I put in. Don't know where to start. . . .

Hey everybody, just wanted to get some input before I drop $150+ on a new headlight switch... The problem I've been having is that the wire for the tail lights that goes up to the top of the headlight switch (see picture) would intermittently get so hot that it would melt the solder and obviously disconnect and leave me without tail lights. It was annoying, but I would just re-solder it and it'd fix the problem. Now, today, it melted again and I re-soldered it, but still no tail lights. I checked all the fuses and they're fine, and the switch contact is getting battery voltage when I turn the lights on. I'm thinking I need a new switch because all that soldering might h…

Picked up my 260z about a month ago, and this morning it wouldn't start. It turns over fine(had to replace the starter to drive it home the first time), but it just won't start now. The guy who had it 2 owners before me put in a really weird electrical system that's almost impossible to trace. I'v checked all the fuses that I can find(with the new electrical setup there's 30+ unlabeled fuses in random places throughout the car). This is my first z, but from what I can tell it's the stock ignition setup except for an MSD blaster 2 coil. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? and even seemingly stupid answers would be appreciated, cause i'm basicly useless when it com…

When I do a continuity check on the water temperature sensor circuit, I get a short initial continuity indication, but not a continuous indication like on the other circuits. The sensor appears to be working normal, but I wanted to check with everyone here to verify if they have experienced this type of electrical check on this circuit only. Cat :beard:

Does anyone have advice on refurbishing a 240z heater box? Are there replacement parts available for the foam seals/gaskets? Thanks

In order to ship my cracked dash to Dashboard Restorations I had to remove the wiring harness. I tagged and labeled everything—until I came across this…. Does anyone know what this device is and where it goes? It is attached to the driver's side of the dash wiring harness.

So I bought a new fuel pump after the one I bought little over a year ago died a few months after I bought it. I installed the pump but shortly after that It burnt out. I'm thinking it did so because of a blockage in the tank so I dropped the tank and had it professionally cleaned. Now that I have the tank back I'm gonna get another fuel pump but before I do that I wanna make sure that it didnt burn out because of a voltage issue. I read that it has 12 volts when on but I'm wondering if it has to be lower than that. I would like to know just so I don't potentially blow out another pump.

Ok so I have a 74 260z and since ive owned this car the fuel gauge has been reading way below the empty point. so I was looking for a new gauge and was told check the wiring to the sender unit. so i started testing for voltage to the sender and got none. so i moved up to see if the gauge was getting power and it is. so i check with the gauge plugged in to see if the yellow signal wire is getting power through the gauge. on initial start up it sends 10-12 volts. after idling for a couple seconds the voltage signal start jumping from .8 to 8 volts. with my voltmeter hooked up to it the gauge reading didnt change.so does this sound like a faulty gauge? also the ampmeter when…
