Hi All. I have a grommet that is disintegrating on the firewall. I have attached a picture of someone else's firewall. The grommet in question is directly to the left of the hood catch.. The grommet is about 3 inches above the water inlet (or outlet) hose. What is this for? Is it for the windshield wipers? The wires coming out are enclosed in a black plastic tube that has a semi large connector on it. If I find a replacement grommet, how do I get the wires through? Do I remove the cowl? Can the wires hidden under the cowl be threaded through this grommet somehow? Do I have to cut the wires and then splice them back together? Seems like Banzai has a reproductio…

Is there a vendor who can rebuild a 1973 240z Tachometer. Not someone who just substitutes a junkyard unit, but actually can go through the circuit board and the mechanical and repair. I vaguely remember there used to be some guy, I think from around the San Diego area(maybe not), that said he repaired all Z gages. Anyway, any suggestions are welcome. Victor.

MSD #8202 Blaster 2 coil. Is this the part number I need for my 260Z? I've read something about removing a ballast resistor (which I'm guessing is the cylinder shaped thing mounted next to the coil with a wire leading to the + connection on the coil?), but that thread was about a 240, so I wasn't sure if I had to do that or not. I've also read about some tachometer issues when installing an aftermarket coil. Do I need to do any wiring modifications to make it work or anything else? Thanks guys. -Grant

So it is way too cold to work in my garage this week, so I opened a couple of part boxes to fix/clean/sort parts that I will use. While trying to piece together a pair of signal lights out of all the sad broken sets I have I came across one that is not the same as the rest. As seen in the photos it is the right one which has two bulbs and a divider between each half which fits into a slot on the lens. It has a IKI part number 3031 and the rest are 3005.

Antenna Rework 1 2

My OEM antenna didn't work so this weekend I completely dis-assembled it, cleaned-up all the corrosion and "muck" on the inside and installed a new OEM antenna mast, (provided by the PO). Installing the new antenna mast was not difficult, but the interior of the mechanism was filled with a mixture of dried-up grease & dirt. Also, the aluminum channel the nylon antenna rod runs in was very heavily corroded. Inside the motor case I cleaned-up using electrical contact cleaner, paper towels and Q-tips. Once cleaned-up, lubricated and re-assembled, it now operates smoothly. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to use it or go with a more modern, "automatc" antenna.…

Ok, so last night I connected my new kenwood stereo to my 1974 260z. I clipped the connector from the back of the radio. wired the black wire to the ground, blue wire to the on/off power, and the light switch to the red/blue wire. Then, for my constant power, I ran a wire up to the clock which had been clipped from the car power and ran to a AA battery. I didn't think much of it considering there was still power coming from the wire. so, I just hooked it up there, and finished by wiring up my speakers. cranked it up last night, car ran fine, stereo sounded good, everthing thumbs up. Well, this morning, leaving for school, I noticed that I had NO guages. only speedo work…

I'm in the process of converting a 76 280z into a road race car. I had to remove the interior. Is there a way to hotwire the Fuel Injection Computer or is there an aftermarket module that anyone knows about for a quick fix. Just hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. Sorry if this has been asked and posted before. If it has can you please direct me to the post.
