I've recently acquired a CAS setup for the L series L28 engine. I'm looking to replace the sensor with a new one. (part number 23731-V0801, made by Hitachi in Japan.). I'm also considering an alternate sensor to use as a substitute if the original ones are NLA. Can anyone help me out? Cheers, Mark.

So I upgraded my alternator in my 280z to the 105amp from ZSpecialties. After installing it, the Brake warning light is constantly on. I presume this is from the T connector no longer being used. Which wire (white/black or yellow) should I hook back up? The white/black did nothing when hooked up, but when I hooked up the yellow to 12v the light went off then came back on. Is there a problem somewhere else in the Brake warning relay? It did not happen until the alternator was changed. Thanks

I did a quick search for a replacement rear-window defroster grid, and I found a place that has ones that you can trim to size! You can buy the entire kit: http://www.frostfighter.com/prt2600.htm Or you can get just the window grid: http://www.frostfighter.com/prt26STK.htm So now you can just scrape off the oem one (if you want to) and put on a new one, About 50 buxZ for the kit, which includes a switch & relay. About 30 buxZ for just the grid thxZ

I have a 76 z. Had the normal problems of the Z electrical gremlins which is caused by corrosion. Turn signals, dome light and horns did not work. Did not have to buy new parts. I tried the contact cleaner and turn signals would not work. Sprayed WD-40 on contacts and signals work perfect. You will have to open up the emergency switch in the center of the console and spray it as well. For the dome light the door switches had to be pried out, sprayed and twisted. Because of the horn getting water and dirt at the front by the bumper corrosion started. I took the wires off of the horns up front by the bumper and sprayed WD-40 and it works. Wild Dog is the shhhh.

Well, I am hopefully going to be ordering the upgrade harnesses for the parking light and the headlights, and the alternator adapter for my 240z, so that I can get a stronger alternator. Are there any other electrical adapters and harnesses that I should consider? Most of my electric works except for the wipers and headlights, but I want everything else to be updated if possible as I want this 36 year old buddy to be more so reliable then the day it was sold. Edit: I also already got the electric distributor to replace the points.

Ok, so.... Where are some 5 1/4 inch speakers with a slim back and the mounting brackets for the speakers that go in the rear end of the 240z. I am going to see if I can start on my sound project so that I can at least listen to the radio with 2 speakers. I can't find the speakers with slim backs, and I can not find the bracket. I do not care about the wattage really. Just some nice quality.

Was doing some digging on causes of battery failure and what actually happens to the battery when its gone bad. I found a bunch of information about battery desulfation and how this can double or triple the life of a new battery or save a battery that appears to have gone bad. These guys www.batterylifesaver.com sell a device that connects to the battery and runs with out a external power source. It appears to have a capacitor and other circuitry that once the capacitor is charged up it spikes the battery with a pulse that over time dissolves the sulfation or will prevent it from forming on a new battery. I also found these guys www.wizbangplus.com that have one for $35 s…

I feel embarrassed saying this but I don't want to take any chances. The other day I was removing old vents and hoses so I can plug up the holes in the firewall to help avoid engine fumes. Anyway A couple of the hoses were attached to a metal box (behind the center console which holds some vents in the dash) and the nuts were held on tightly. I used wd40 to loosen the nuts and was able to remove them with no problem. As I attempted to remove the box It was caught between something and I was unable to see what it was (night time). I didn't notice that it was bare metal and the surface it was held on to was metal and as I wiggled it out it ignited the remaining wd40 residue…

I have an early 260z and I just swapped the alt for a zx one and wired it all in. I followed the instructions for the 240 and now when I turn the ignition to on my fuel pump runs and clicks. What do I need to do on the 260 to wire this alt correctly. I have been searching forever and everyone says the info is out there, but nobody posts it. Please help!
