I have read a few threads about setting this up, but if someone who has done this could help me out with what I specificly need to do and look for, i.e. where to cut and wire, that would be great. Thanks 74 260z

This is my second question in this forum. Last one was answered quickly and pointed me in the right direction. I'm hopig for the same. The following gauges do not work. Fuel, Oil Pressure, Temperature. Volt/Charge and clock work fine. Where do I start. Let me state that I recently purchased a new Haynes manual and I would need a 100 power magnifying glass to read the wiring diagram. Any starting points? Fuel light will come on when I'm low.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Oh, BTW, it is a 1971 240Z (build date 12/70). Thanks! Regards, Astrohog

For the longest time i thought i had an overheating problem. But after replacing the thermostat, water pump, fan clutch, and radiator i dont think that is the problem. i think i have a hot start problem. The car after getting to running temp is doesnt like shut off because its to hot, but once i turn of the car it gets tricky. in order to start the car. i have to turn the key and give it gas. and it will start. but everytime i start the car cold i dont have to give it gas. This is the weird part. The first time i try to start the car while it is hot and i dont give it gas it will almost start then sputter dead. if i would have given it gas it would have started but maybe …

I got a flasher relay from another car, but the ratings and part number on mine and the one I got are different. Is there any harm in using it or not? My flashers blink once every minute, or not at all..

Hi all- I just did the e80-early 80's skyline electronic dizzy conversion on my '71 240z- and I'm amazed at the difference-ie easy to start(dont need hardly any choke now) and seems revver. The vaccum advance units is stuffed in the electric dizzy but I've ordered a new one and will have it this week. Now my question. The vaccum hose off my carbie(std 240z carb- takeoff on left one) has no vaccum at idle but has lots of vaccum on open throttle. So.. the dizzy will advance at open throttle but not at idle. Shouldnt it be the other way around???with lots of vaccum advance at idle, then retard to normal at throttle to prevent pinging? If im right, shouldnt i take vaccum from…

Hi all- Please help me identify and find the wiring that is missing here. It is on a 1975 280Z -manual tranny-that is completely stock. The 8 pin connector that is shown in the pic comes from the wiring harness on the passenger side engine frame rail. From the FSM wiring diagram on Blue’s site, it appears that it has leads that go to the starter, alternator, neutral switch, back up switch, and oil pressure switch. There are other connections used –not used---depending on whether or not it has a manual or auto tranny. What is this piece of the wiring harness called and where can I find one? The car belongs to a friend of mine that did a restore, lost the part, and h…

I have located the harness and I know the appropriate wires (red and red/black) to connect to the switch. My question is what wires on the swtich do each of the harness wires connect to? The reverse switch has one remaining wire with a bullet connector. Does it connect to the red or the red/black wire? Thanks.

OK, here's a new one on me. The tach in my early '71 240Z (4 wire) suddenly this afternoon started to peg the needle at 8000 RPM any time the key is turned to the Run position, whether the engine is running or not. I suspect a problem with the tach itself, not the wiring as the ignition appears to be working fine, since the car starts and runs normally. Any thoughts?

I'm having a problem with some interior stuff. My Map light, dome light, glove box, key in buzzer, windshield wipe pump motor. All I know so far is that ther is no power to the wires for the motor and the fuse box doesn't have power either.I have figured out that all of this stuff is on the same circuit. Were should I start to find the problem? Help!!!!!!!!!!!! DeeDee
