For those of you who haven't found it yet, you local Wally-World probably carries something called Liquid Electrical Tape. In a store near me it's carried by the Bondo-Spray Paint-Auto repair section of the store. This liquid dries to a nice rubber coating and can be used to seal electrical connections against air and moisture. I think we can all think of fifty thousand places on a Z (especially the EFI models) that can use this sort of protection. Waterlogging TVS springs to mind immediately. Heck, maybe it can repair crusty weatherstrip, who knows?

My son saw this on one of the car shows. It is for those of us who don't drive our Z's everyday. The Battery Tender Jr. keeps your battery ready to go. I have bought one for all my Z cars. Works very well. Here is a good deal on this product. I bought 2 for $45 shipped! They are around $32 at Pep Boys. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34284&item=4560538688&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Here is their website. http://www.batterytender.com/

I've narrowed my starting problem down to the starter/solenoid not getting power. (after installing a new starter, batt. cables, ignition switch). I know the negative batt cable grounds on the starter and the positive batt. cable goes to the starter lead. My question is which wire goes to the lead on the starter solenoid to give it power. There is a thick harness on the frame rail with a line coming from it that is going to the same lead as the pos batt cable. There is also another harness (thinner) that comes from over the auto trans tunnel and along the frame rail with a little yellow wire that comes out from there. I'm thinking the wire from the thick harness shou…

the reason that HID conversion kits are illegal in most places is because an HID set-up + halogen housing = GLARE. in order for an HID set-up to be viable (and safe) the easiest way to do it (i.e. without R&D) is to retrofit the HID set-up from another car. i have been trying to find a car that has a headlight set-up that may fit in the 7" sealed beam are of the Z. i haven't been able to find a good source, so i was wondering if anyone had any better ideas.... anyay, here is an example of stock headlights versus an HID retrofit job. notice the clear cut-off and lack of glare.... ps, for more reading, check out this link to another one of my forums (you'd be hard p…

Hello all, Just picked up the car yesterday and am already stumped by what should be a minor problem, neither the flashers or any turn signals work, here's what I know. 1) I've checked the fuse (single fuse for hazard) and it's good as well as having power to it (which I swear it didn't when I first checked it). It only seams to have power with the ignition on but I would assume that it should be hot always for the flashers? 2) determined there is no power at either the emergency flasher switch or at the TS switch (any of the green wires) 3) I've changed the both 2-prong relays (flasher and signal) 4) I've checked the Emergancy flasher switch to verify it was working pr…

Well along with many other little quirks my new Z has, the Tacho doesnt work... not that I really need it because its Auto but I would rather it work. So basically it doesnt work... BUT sometimes when I turn the ignition on or turn the R indicator on, it flinches. The needle will move a tiny bit or go right the way around and back really quickly. I have the wireing diagram from a official Nissan service book(came with the car). I pulled it out(tacho), had a look and a wiggle of all the wires but no good. Neer the coil though, there is a dark blue wire that looks to have broken off something. its hanging loose and has a black rubber connecter or something on it! It goes in…

HI all, In a response to a lighting query, someone downloaded a photo of their front lights which look very similar to those on a new BMW 5series. I 'll explain: at the outer EDGE ONLY of the SIDELIGHT is a circular beam of light. Please would that person email me the photo again with details on how to get hold of lights like that for my 240 ! Thanks, Sean BTW I solved my steering wheel void - I bought a Nardi but I'm not using a Datsun boss - why ? I can't tell you yet but you're gonna love it (the purists won't though!).

I looked all over this forum but could'nt find it. I need to know how the woring harness under the dash hooks up to the engine harness. I have the haynes wiring diagram but cant seem to understand it. Does anyone have an actual picture. This would help me alot thanks. The problem is that there is a white/red wire that gets hot so i think i hooked up something wrong. The car would turn over and never start but now it wont even turn over. So i sont know why it wont start. PLease HELP!!!!!

I have an Alpine cd player and I really like it, but I want the original look of the oem cassette player. I have it in a box at home and on the outside it appears to be in really nice condtion, but I am worried about the internals. My goal is to have the oem am/fm tape player in the car so I can listen to the radio when I like and use the tape adapter to plug in my iPOD. What do you guys think? Is it a lost cause? Could I restore the tape player if it needs it? Any suggestions would be most appreciated. -Ben

It looks like I bought the wrong Mechanical Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges, for my '71 240Z. From looking at the Summit Racing site, I thought it was a no-brainer. I ordered the Auto Meter Z-Series ATM-2604 Oil Pressure 0-100 psi gauge: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=atm-2604&x=0&y=0&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp and the Auto Meter Z-Series Water Temp 120-140 gauge: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=atm-2607&x=0&y=0&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp But they're way too small. What gives? Which gauges…
