Just brought the "new" home. 72 240 all original except for the wheels. Bought from the classifieds here. The car has no power to the fuse labeled ignition. If you bridge from the next fuse labeled flasher power will go to the ignition switch. With tester voltage always present to the flasher. Any ideas what to check next. Once the car is started everything guages ect work. A bit puzzling...

Hello....I have been a club member for a couple years and up to now have only read the mail....I was talking to a neighbor, a fellow Z nut, he said he had heard that there is one model honda wiper motor that will bolt into the 240Z. I said " you mean the blower motor" and he said no...the wiper motor. Have any of you heard about this swap? Regards, Livenbad

Zspecialties is selling a 105 Amp alternator said to be a plug & play unit into a 70-73 Z. The stock voltage regulator is not used with this unit. So, it is either removed or bypassed. Was wondering if anyone has purchased this unit and what they thought of it. I am only concerned that I am going to burn up wires with all this amperage. Should I be concerned? Is 105 Amps too much? George

Don't know if there have been any topics posted about this, but i was wondering if the ignition keyswitch system and doorlocks can be interchanged between the 240, 260, or 280's. I see a bunch of sets that are off of 280's and mostly 280's at junk yards, but i have a 240 so BLEH. appreciate the replies, take care, thanks.

I have just installed the heater, blower assy, the dash, pedals and steering column. I am now putting in the console. I have plugged everything back in except for one pigtail coming out of the fuse box. It is a very short pigtail about 4" long coming out of the left(driver) side of the box. Cannot find a female connector for this male pigtail. What is this? Have I just lost a wire in the maze? Or, ?????? I originally thought it was for the lighter but I have the lighter hooked up and nothing is close to fitting this short wire. Anyone got any ideas on what this wire is for?

Anyone have an idea of how to test a turn signal flasher to see if it's working properly? I just bought a brand new flasher. When I installed it the turn signals stay on and don't flash. I tried testing it like this: first I connected a wire to the negative terminal on a battery, the other end of the wire went to the flasher, from the other terminal on the flasher a wire went to a light bulb then to the positive terminal on the battery. The light just stayed on, no flashing.

Car: 1973 240Z Sorry if I missed it, but I did a search and couldn't find anything exactly relevant. Furthermore, time is not on my side. Here's the problem: I got pulled over for no brake lights. The asshole (I know not all sheriffs are assholes but this one particularly was) hit me up for other stuff too, but I'll fight that in court. Unfortunately court is March the 24th, and I need to post bail and show correction of lighting the 23rd. That's the background and here's the progress. I've check my fuses; okay. I've checked the pedal switch; shows continuity and functions properly (pedal up creates and open, pedal depressed closes the circuit). Turn signals work. Light b…

I just recieved my two new switches, one headlight and one turn signal switch. i installed them on my 71 240, and still have the same problem as before: when i press on the brakes, the brake lights come on, and so do the front turn signals. so it isnt the switch. what could my problems be? i may need a new wiring harness for dash.. can sombody help me to understand the correct way to hook up my new switches, maybe i am hooking them up wrong.. i dont understand the wiring diagrams completely, is there any pictures of how a 71 wires are hooked up under the steering wheel? also some other notes: some of the connectors get hot, and my dash guage lights are very dim.. please…

Just bought a 1981 Turbo 280Z. It was running but missing. Now we are not getting any spark at all. We've checked all the basics. Any suggestions. Someone mentioned the crank angle sensor??

I finally put in a NOS turn signal switch in the 71, Nice to have front signals for a change! It now appears I lost the horn. But it's been a little while since I used the horn so, I dont really know. The little contact strip for the horn on the new switch assembly IS making contact with the horn ring on the wheel. Fuse is OK. Wonder whats up?
