I need a new battery for my 240Z. I have heard good things about the OPTIMA battery. Do you recommend? Does the mounting arrangement change? What is the part number for the correct OPTIMA battery for a 240Z? The dealer does not have the 240Z listed in his book so I am counting on the experience of this forum thanks for your help RobertH Florida

I had some rust issues under the battery tray...Cant find a replacement battery tray....Sooooo I picked up a VERY nice and pricey SS battery box to mount in the back of my 1970 240Z. My brother flipped out and said that I should never mount a battery inside the car. Could explode and kill ya. I see his point but the battery box I purchased is NHRA approved for cars that do not have a firewall. Do I have anything to worry about?

Does anyone have experience with servicing the switch (button type) at the end of the Combo SW Stalk that activates the windshield washer pump on a 240Z? My washer pump (new) operates itermittantly and I'd like to remedy that if I can do so without destroying the combo stalk in the process. Thanks, Carl

Anyone know what is going on? My 73 Z is acting up. When I use the turn signal, the exterior lights go on but they do not flash. The arrow signals inside do not light up. The hazards still work fine. Any ideas. Zover

My Annual Lecture! How to prepare your car for the "dark season" According to regular servicing data for 2001, around 36 percent of the vehicles inspected had defective lamps. In the dark months of fall and winter in particular, fully functioning lights are the most important guarantee of road safety. Defects such as faulty brake lights or indicators usually go unnoticed by the driver inside the car. Moreover, faulty headlamp settings cannot be detected with the naked eye. So please - check your vehicle’s entire lighting system, from the headlamps to the reversing lights - make sure you can see and be seen better in the fall and winter months and reach your destination …

Can I get some enlightenment about how the fuel warning lamp operates? I did some stuff with test lamp during summer and found out that one of the wires at the dash light is always hot, so I think there's a switch inside the tank level sender? My warning lamp has never worked yet, even after a couple tank-fuls.I usually fill the tank half-way. Bad sender maybe? The gauge seems to read correctly. thx. happy holi-daze.

Hey guys- I have a stock electrical system in my 72 240, with the addition of an electric fan. The amp gauge sits at ~10A when running, goes to ~30A (on a 45A gauge) when the EFan kicks in. Tuesday, I was out driving in stupid heat, and the fan ran the whole time (as did the AC, heh heh). Now, when the car is running (fan off) and the battery is partially discharged (from idling with the fan on, or starting up, etc.) the gauge shows about ~20A. When the fan comes on, it DROPS to about 10A. Basically, it's behaving like the alternator can put out only 20A now, and if I try to ask for more, it goes into limp mode, dropping to 10A. Does that make sense? What should I l…

Hi all, I don't know if I'm observing something that is normal or not ( I don't think so but,......). With Summer here and long daylight hours, I haven't driven at night lately so maybe I'm just being paranoid but, on my last trip I've noticed that with the headlights on, my AMP meter is reading about an 1/8 of the way into the negative side of the gauge. This caught my attention as being odd. Driving during the daytime with lights off course, the needle is stable down the middle. I've also noticed that when the ventalation fan is on now, the neeedle moves slightly into the negative side of the gauge. I've replaced the battery, and the voltage regulator with no change…
