i have a 71 240z. the am reception has been rotten from the day i bought it. i have tried grounding the antenna various ways thet dont seem to work. the only time when it comes in clear is when i grab the antenna myself. then it comes in real nice. any ideas? this is driving me nuts.:stupid: :tapemouth :mad:

Hello all. Some of you may recall I had some pretty big electrical problems last year with my 72 240. Something caused a total electrical meltdown, resulting in a burnt up wiring harness, dead battery, dead amp gauge, dead alternator, and bad voltage regulator (among other things). Well I got past all that and things had been going well until recently. A few weeks ago, I was doing routine maintenance, and noticed that my battery was somewhat out of position. So I undid the hold-down, and refastened it, then moved on. Shortly after that, I started having trouble with the Ign fuse blowing. Upon replacement, I would lose the fuse shortly thereafter. last place i took my car ****ed up the wiring, the batterie dies over night, and now when i jump it, it runs till i take the jumpr leads off... so does anyone know where i can get Wiring harnes for my datsun? and any suggestions on ignition systems?

NO LOW BEAMS FRONT HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK ON LOW BEAMS. BUT HIGH BEAMS WORK FINE. CHECKED CONNECTOR(AROUND STEERING COLUM) THERE IS A PLUG WITH TWO FEMAL ENDS. ONLY ON HAS CURRENT COMING INTO IT. I WILL ASSUME THE ONE THAT IS HOT IS MY HIGH BEAMS. ? WERE DO I CHASE DOWN THE HOT WIRE FOR THE LOW BEAMS. ? WHICH WIRE CONNECTED TO HEADLIGHTS SHOULD BE HOT(IF I TEST CONNECTION AT LIGHTS) P.S. 78Z 82TURBO ENGINE. WIPERS DO NOT WORK? THEY ONLY WORK WHEN I PUSH WASHER BUTTON IN YOU CAN IMAGINE IT'S A REAL PAIN WHEN IT RAINS. I TESTED PLUG CONNECTION TO WIPER MOTER, THE ONLY HOT WIRER IS THE RED/BLUE WIRE. ? IS THE ONLY HOT CONNECTION TO WIPER MOTOR?

At idle Everything slows down heater blower , Dash lights, head lights, i step on the gas it comes back. its a 74 260z it has new alt and vr belts tight, fuses are ok.

Hi, After reading the posts on electronic ignitions and doing a search I am confused on what to do for my 73 240z w/automatic. Am I correct in my conclusion that because there is dual points that I can't use something like a Petronix system? Is there another system available? Is my only choice having to upgrade to something like a 280z distributor? My apologies if i missed something already posted. Greg

Can anyone help direct me to a place to find a part for a 1976 Datsun 280Z 2+2 I need a part called a valve vacuum switch and the nissan part # is 14956-U6705, and there are two other part #'s that will work: 14956-U6701 and 14956-U6700 Tks in advance.. Huck
