Not sure what to think about this stuff. I put it in the radiator yesterday and ran the engine for 20 minutes like it says. After the engine cooled down I popped the rad cap and looked inside. I expected to see and even mix between the coolant and the additive but what I saw was like "globs" of the additive floating by. The first thing I thought was Is it possible that some of these "globs" are going to plug a passage or am I just being paranoid? Anyone else experience this? Just something else for me to worry about with this car.

I have noticed that there are little spots across the underside of the hood in the area just above the cooling fan. I am assuming the spots are from water or anything that gets pulled through the radiator on the roads or highways. These spots don't come off with a little water or rubbing, like a water spot on the windscreen. I was thinking that if you extended the top so it covered the fan blades, then the stuff would not be thrown at the underside of the hood, and it would look as nice as the rest does. So is there a recommended way to either replace the fan shroud with some that cover the blades, or is there a good way to extend it? I thought of using some small pop…

Where the tranny mount mounts to the passenger side tunnel- where the bolt goes up through the pyramid shaped boxed in area attached to the tunnel, the nut that the bolt attaches to, which is inside the boxed in area, is stripped. Any ideas how to fix it, without welding and alot of cutting. Since my interior is out, do you think i could drill or cut a hole from the interior of car on the tunnel where the boxed in area is? It wouldn't be hard to measure from under the car, to get a good idea where to cut or drill. After i get a hole in the tunnel from the interior of the car, i can put a new nut in so the bolt has something to attach to. Do you think that would work? Than…

Hello...I have had my 1972 Z for 29 years and have always wanted a 5 speed trans. It now has a 4 speed. I have a friend that has a 5 speed from a 1982 280ZX . He says it will fit right in my Z but I'm not so sure. Does anyone know if it will bolt in ? I can also get the drive shaft if needed. Thanks in advance... Dave

I rolled down to the z-bash in Orange a couple of weeks ago, when I got back home I found this: looks like I'm leaking oil from the front of the block somewhere - any suggestions? Thanks, Ken

So i did the sti swap everything is great except for 1st gear. When I let out the clutch (especially if it slow) I get a clunk and a funny grinding noise ? Everything is tight but the diff kind floats there anyway . Is everything OK ? I did have to use a press to get in one of the shafts and was a bit worried there. I was going to drive a bit more and change the oil to look for metal shavings . Any advice is welcomed.

Are the thread pitch and the bolt shank the same on cam and crank bolts? In other words, can i use a crankshaft bolt on a camshaft? I know the heads are a different size. I have an electric fuel pump. 280zx N/T. Thanks

When I rebuilt my motor I put the new timing set at hole 3 for more low end power. Reading Blue's tips I've found that will increase the timing 8 degrees with a new chain. I've also read that a good setting with the E12-80 distibutor is 12 -14 BTDC. So for an initial setting I should see the pulley mark line up with 5 on the timing scale for a total of 13 degrees BTDC? I've overloaded my thinking to the point of confusion. Thanks for any help, Cliff

I am sure this has been asked and answered somewhere in the archives but I haven't triggered the key words to find the answer. When replacing the engine in a 240 with a 280 for example, or when changing the head over to one that doesn't have the boss opened for the mechanical fuel pump, what is the best way to get a fuel pump up and running? I have a good running n42/n47 engine I am installing in a 240 but it of course doesn't have the boss opened up nor the lobe for the fuel pump (I assume). This car didn't come with the secondary electric pump. In keeping with an original appearance, my heart wants to install the mechanical pump. It seems more practical to put in an…
