Time for a new WP. Parts at Nissan Gardena says it NLA. MSA says theirs are cast iron. Rather have aluminum. Any recommendations or bad ones to watch out for?

I seem to have antifreeze leaking down the driver side of the engine under the exhaust. I was hoping it was coming from the thermostat housing and running back down along the side of the engine, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So I guess it is time to pull the head and see what is going on inside and I have a few questions for any of you who might have done this before on a 76 FI engine. BTW, there isn't any oil in the antifreeze and no antifreeze in the oil, so I'm hoping it is just a leak to the outside. Can I unbolt the intake manifold and then the exhaust manifold and just pivot them away from the head (after loosing the exhaust hangers, etc) instead of disconne…

I replaced the drive belts on my early 71 Z about a month ago. I also replaced the alternator with that of a 280z. After this, my oil pressure gauge stopped working outright. Even after driving it for a bit, it does not move at all. The engine temperature is reading. Just trying to rule out the problem, I bought a new oil pressure sensor, and now I can't locate where the old one is. Any help would be appreciated. I have a general idea of where things are in the engine from my repair manual.

Rare find! I purchased this NOS air S30 air cleaner housing recently. Although I am disappointed:disappoin in the condition it is still a rare find. I wanted to put it on my 72 as part of making the late production 72 as original as possible but although NOS it was not stored well and the condition is less than expected.

I bought a project 260Z a few months back and I'm sorting out what I have and I need help with harmonic balancer I.D. Now for a little background. The previous owner bought the 74, not running, with a reported blown head gasket. He pulled an engine from a 75 Z and installed it and couldn't get it running. I'm now discovering why. The original engine came as a spare with the car. Here's where it gets interesting. The original engine [spare with the blown HG] is a L26- #072285 P30 with a E88 head. The engine in the car, pulled from a 75, is a L24 #125191 with a E88 head. Back to the balancers, The balancer on the L24 is a three sheave pulley and has 5 timing marks. The 2 inn…

Hello all, My 1972 240Z with original 2.4L was sitting for 20 years in a chicken coop when I bought it in 2008. It only had 87k original miles on the engine, and I spent some time getting it running well. I drove it without incident for several years until the summer of 2012 when I went to start it and there was a very bad valve train clatter. I didn't have time to look at it for awhile due to school and work. When I did get a chance I discovered that one of the lash pads had fallen off the rocker arm, so I put that back on, but I also noticed that the timing chain was badly stretched, and the tensioner had broken too. So I had a friend who is a Datsun mechanic help me re…

I am looking to buy a clutch LSD r160 from an old subaru any thoughts ? Is the LSD worth the 400$ ? I assume my handling will improve alone with some front and back sway bars. From what i read it will handle up to 200 hp. I may one day go to a turbo set up but nothing too crazy just stock. thanks for any input

Hey everyone, I have a car now with a cold-air return on it for my triple webers, 3.1 stroker motor. Runs great, plenty of pull, all good. But, the air box hits the hood, so I've been considering just changing over to individual filters that mount to each carb. I know the cooler air helps, especially as the carbs sit right over the header, but I'm not sure how much. Is it worth building another air box? (The current one has other issues, too, like it leaks, has too many screws, messed up gasket, so I'd have to start over.) Top performance has some filters that would allow me to use my horns still, so the air coming into the carbs would still be streamlined. How much is …

1973 Automatic 240z started making a sound like an unbalanced washing machine only when the car is under load. One of the passengers said it sounds like a dyeing jet engine. I have jacked up the rear and put blocks under the rear to get the rear wheels off the ground. The wheels spin smooth. When the car is in neutral and you spin the rear wheels that causes the drive line to spin unless I hold it and stop it from spinning. If I allow the drive line to spin I hear an uneasy clunking noise coming from the tail end of the tranny. When parked on a slight incline about 10 degrees the car rolls down hill when in park. We just had a mechanic replace the rear bushings, drive li…
