I have the rear suspension apart on my '72 240z and want to install a R/T mount. My car is stock type setup with a 2.8L engine and 5spd from a 280zx along with a R200 diff and no plans to install a V8 or anything. From what I have read I think I would be just fine with the traditional bump stop design and possibly cutting off 1/4 of an inch of the bump stop if I needed to. However the method of using the GM trans mount looks much better since it eliminates the bottom mount all together thus eliminating any possibly movement. My question is, would there be any negative effects on my stock style drive train by using the GM trans mount setup?

I can't find a temp switch anywhere this is the sensor that has the bullet plug and a ground which I believe was only on the 75-76 280z. I live in FL and it never gets colder than 50 degrees where I live. Can I just plug this hole? Also my other questions is there is a small house coming from the side of the thermostat the wraps around to I believe the manifold. On the l28et I just bought this hole is plugged. What is this hose for? Do I need it or can I plug this also? I live in FL and don't have to worry about emissions and everything. Thanks in advanced.

Hi, I'm on the hunt for new intake valve seats for a n47 head, I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get these? I've tried searching and the only places I have come up with are MSA, which is expensive, almost $13 for one, or zcarsource, which doesn't list the manufacturer. Does anybody know of any places to get these? Or should I just put my faith in zcarsource? Thanks!

Well, I just finished installing my freshly built L28, P79 shaved 0.080, aftermarket cam, header, intake, running round top SU's. I also swapped over to a zx 5 speed and a 3.90 diff. My stock 240z clutch had a few thousand miles on it and was in excellent shape so I thought using it with the new motor would have been just fine. Well, I've been driving the car for about 2 weeks being easy on it, breaking it in and everything has been fine. Tonight I went out for a little drive and started pushing the car a little harder and loading it up and I noticed my clutch will start to slip pretty bad once i get up to about 4000rpm under load. 1st gear just likes to spin the tires so…

Hello, I am in the final stages of assembling my car after extensive restoration and I'm kicking myself for not having bench bled my clutch parts. Anyway I have bled the clutch per the FSM, and using a pressure bleeder, the former with more success. I have fun about a half litre through the system now using the FSM method and when I crank over the car I can still feel the car move forward ever so slightly. Which is a massive improvement over how it would lurch forward initially. The slave is brand new Nissan as well, all new hoses, and clutch master. The car is also slightly more difficult to roll if the car is in gear and the clutch engaged than if it is simply in n…

Hey members, I currently rebuilding my n47 head and replacing the timing chain on my car. Before reinstalling I was thinking about installing a mild cam. I don't much about upgrading a cam, so I have a lot of questions. Do I need to upgrade springs or rockers. And is installing the same as a stock cam or Should I not bother?

Continuing to pull apart the '71, which has been modified by POs. Documentation obtained with the car indicated it had a 4.11 R180 differential installed. We replaced the U-Joints in the stock Half-Shafts, and pulled apart the differential today, only to find out it has 3.545 gearing. It also has a large "K" stamped on the top, which I understand is from the 84-88 200SX. So, someone has replaced the stock R180 with a later replacement R180, geared identically. I understand there's some work involved to get this to bolt up with stock halfshafts, so someone spent some time here. I guess I'll be looking for a 3.90 differential now, and will be doing the R200 swap. Not some…

Hi, I am going to be getting a new cam or a regrind, and rebuilding the whole head in general, so I had a question regarding finding the correct lash pad. I understand doing the wipe test etc., however in everything I've read it says to try lash pads until you find the right size. Since I don't have different sized lash pads lying around, and it would be a pain to order multiple lash pads and wait for them, is there a way to shim the original lash pad and find the correct size like that? and then just purchase the set of the size I need? I understand that it is recommended to check every single rocker, and each pad size may differ if the valve stems aren't aligned to the …
