Could use some suggestions on the following problems: I was installing 3 screw SU's on an E88 intake on my 73. I removed the N36 intake and was installing the E88 when it happened. Apparently some idiot (insert my name here) let the fuel rail bracket get between the intake and the gasket. I learned that aluminum is not forgiving during the tightening down procedure! I have the original N36 intake cleaned & took the balance tube off the E88 and installed it on the N36. Here are my questions: What can be done with the cracked E88 intake? Is this something that can be welded. The crack does not go all the way around the intake - just about 3-4 inches. If I use the N…

I just got my 73 240z running for the first time and was underwhelmed with the power. I was not expecting a rocket ship, but I am now wondering what simple things I can do to add to the horse power. It already has a dual webber carb. What mods have people done to the exhaust and what have the results been? Zover

my car pulls fine through 1st and most of second, but if i'm under load or in third gear my car starts missing at around 4500-5000..... i'm guessing it could be the timing, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Howdy all, Ok, jump in the car, it's warmed up, good response on the throttle and then about 4k the car acts like its got a rev limiter on it, you can hold that beast to the floor and no rev past 4k or so. It acts like it's cross firing. By the way, this is the '74 260, with the triple mikunis on it, the dizzy is a dual point mallory with new points that are gapped correctly...Fuel pressure is fine. It really acts like ignition.... Any suggestions? Thanks!

Is it possible to order a new bell housing for my 4 speed? Does anyone know of a place that they might carry it? This is really just for cosmetic reasons so that when I put in my engine in the bell housing will look new as well. Thanks

These pictures are of my current engine mounts. Do they need replacing? If so, where can I get them? Should I upgrade the material? and finally while the engine is out.... what else should I do? Thanks Luke

Can someone help me understand what the lift and duration numbers mean? More importantly how do I compare different cams and know what their characteristics will be like? Example: Lift .441 Duration 260* Lift .460 Duration 260* Lift .480 Duration 274* How do I compare these and know which one is good for what application?

Hello all, my 1983 f54 block is all set. What I want to know is with my P90 head. I had the head milled .050, with the stock block (non-turbo), what would be my compression ratio? Is an easy answer possible? Please let me know. Thank you, Rick.

http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6748&page=1&pp=15&highlight=valve+clearance I just installed an N42 head with a mild cam (.441 lift and 260 degree duration). The person I bought it from said he had a machine shop go through it, resurfaced the rocker arms, etc. He ran it for 2k miles and decided he would go with one of his other heads. He warned me the valves were noisy, and they are. They sound almost like a diesel truck idling. I've adjusted the valves hot and that's not going to resolve this. The thread above suggests that the lash pads are not the correct thickness for this new cam and the valves are not being closed properly. I w…
