HI, I am finally putting my Z back on the road after moving cities, working too many hours and having too little money. Its been in the garage for about 2 years now. Times have changed, I now need to put my Z back on the road. Everything as far as I can tell is very good, but..... I also have the white smoke issue. I'm not sure if this is too serious, I hope not. I have about $3000 AUD to do whatever I need to do to fix this problem, get new shocks (probably Tokico Illumina), new radiator, heat coat the header and touch up anything else that may need doing since the engine is coming out. This may be a bit unrealistic $$$ wise, but I think maybe possible. Could talk…

I noticed that my 72 had a 7 blade cooling fan and my 73 had 8 blades. Does anyone know the reason for this? And which would provide better cooling?

Hi all- I stumbled across a guy selling a megasquirt, 280ZXT intake/injectors, 240sx TB, ZXT fuel pump, etc, $250 shipped. Seems like a good deal, until he sent me this picture of the intake. What's the deal with this thing? Is the affected area the EGR passage as he suggests, and is it connected to the plenum anywhere? I guess I'm just looking for someone to explain what's cut on this thing and if it's usable.

Hey guys, I recently bought a fuel pressure regulator and some othe goodies from Victoria British, included was a fuel pressure regulator. I had problems with my old one since i put the new carbs and bigger exhaust on. I passed up the 20 $ one at autozone because i figured it was cheap and would break down. so i bought the one from victoria british... Well it turned out that they are the same one... I installed it and it worked fine but after leaving it for a month while i was at college I came back to find it not working very much at all... so i put the old one back in and it works so i know its that part... Anyway what fuel pressure regulators do you guys have? do y…

Hey guys, so today, i was under my car, trying to find my problem. I now 100% think that the fuel line has gunk in it, i ran a hose directly from my fuel pump to a catch, cranked it and thanks god, the fuel pump is in perfect working order. I reconnected it, and disconnected the line under the filter, ran it into a catch, cranked it, and nothing happened. So, i put a hand pump where the pump goes to the front of the car, then left the tube under the filter open, and pumped, nothing came out, not even air. So, what do you guys think i should do?

2003-2004 VQ35DE motor in to a '73 Z? Is it possible? Anyone as crazy as me thinking of doing a swap like this? Tell me what you guys think. Suggestions? Advice? Opinions? Thoughts???

I previouslyl owned a G35 Coupe and it got stolen and burned. Insurance paid it off. I just picked up a 73 240z 4 spd. I need help! Should I stick with the orig. motor and build it up? Or should I swap to another motor? And if yes, which one do you guys suggest? I'm on a budget. Don't want to spend too much but want decent good power. And it's just going to be a weekend toy car. My interest is in track/autocrossing. Don't want to build for drag racing or anything. Any suggestions, advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas!

I just removed the cover of the ECU on my 75-280 Cali model, and there are 2 white wires..with bullet connectors...coming out of the wiring harness, at the 35 prong connector. They are not connected to anything, and by looking at the FSM wiring diagram, I see them listed as #11 Control Unit, and #26 checking terminal. Does anyone on this forum know their function ? I can't seem to see any mention of using them in the FSM nor the 75-76 EFI manual. Some Datsun dealer dianostics ?? Just curious....and yes they seem factory original to the harness.

I acquired a NA L28 ($50) with the F54 Block stamping and a P90A Head, the pistons were dished but it had a NA set of intake and exhaust manifolds. Is this a turbo engine converted to NA or is it possible that Nissan produced F54/P90A combinations for non-turbo applications with dished pistons? Are the internals any different between NA and turbo in this combination? My main concern is the pistons capabilities to withstand 8-12 pounds of boost.

from an 8mm wire? That's what this brand called "Nology" claims. They're called "Hotwires". Claim to add 2% to 5% more hp, increased torque, improved acceleration and high rpm limits. Here's their tag line..."The secret lies in the Hotwires built-in capacitor, which accumulates spark energy until voltage reaches an ionization point. The capacitor then discharges the stored spark energy all at once for a faster, more powerful spark and an added performance boost!" Just another line like the Split Fire plugs or a valid product. Oh yeah, the price is a mere $159.95 for a set 4!!! :tapemouth $160 bucks for 2 to 5 more hp seems kinda lame. Vicky
