Pulled this of my 70 240 this afternoon, any thoughts to it being a factory option, dealer installed, or plain old aftermarket job...its metal and attaches to the back side of radiator. I've searched and haven't found this question addressed. Thanks, David Spillman

i have an N47 L28 and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can port the exhaust to be square? i know it's going to be a lot of work, but i don't want to have to get headers for the N47 head (with round ports) and i don't want to have to go through the valve work with my E88 head. basically, i want to port match the head to a set of square port headers because the round port headers i found aren't as nice as the square port ones... anyway, thanks for the help!

Hi guys, I currently own a rust free 1971 240z Build No.#692? (RHD) which I bought a week ago with no gearbox or engine in sight. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were in putting an RB20DET (nissan inline 6) back into the 240z... I sort of feel bad doing it to such an early build car but considering the engine bay was empty when I bought it, i don't feel so bad.. Thanks for any thoughts, Sean p.s. pics of the rb are in my gallery, will have the 240 loaded up once i get photos of it

We've all heard that the higher the compression in an engine the more HP you will have. I was wondering how this works. And also what is too high for a street car?

What do you think about a 383 450HP engine swap for a 1970's 240Z? I'm thinking about this, and I don't own a Z yet, but I know I can afford one and the engine and the 700R4 tranny probably costs more than the car, but it sounds fun anyway. I am on the fence about this, I do want a 240Z. I am a converted Honda fan and now the government is taking it away from me due to Smog issues. Not worth fixing it. Any comments?

I'm in the process of "cleaning up" the engine in my 73 240 for autocross/road race application. It looks like the prior owner removed the air pump and capped quite a few of the ports used for somg hoses and the such. I want to finish the job by removing all unnecessary equipment, hoses, etc. Are there any parts that I should or should not remove?? I am pretty confused. (Air Galley, antibackfire valve, smog tee, egr, ect.)

Anyone have any ideas why I am hearing a "ticking" noise that appears to be coming from the valve train of my L24? Its not real loud, in fact it seems like i dont hear it at all unless i have been driving the car for awhile...it doesnt seem to be an exhaust leak or anything like that..it seems like a real quiet version of the old lifter noise you'd hear on a v-8. I just noticed it this week. The engine seems to be running fine with plenty of power. I myself have never done a valve adjustement on my cars, leaving that chore for my mechanic on a regular basis. Do you think it could be valve related, or a spring or something? Again its not very audible but it is definitely t…

I know everyone is doing the RB26 swap, but I am about to get a RB25 motor dropped into my lap for practically nothing. Is the swap the same as a RB26? Is their stuff I would need to change or beef up? I figure it is better than fabracating a twin turbo manifold for a L28. Need some advice. Thanks

My F 54/turbo building project is ready for internal parts. Top End Performance offers a complete "engine rebuild package" for $1895.00. Is this a good deal? Can anyone recommend another supplier with better service or prices? I would like to hear from others who have done business with Top End Performance and their opinions. Thanks for your help. mayolives@aol.com
