Head porting

I just got my head back from the machine shop. They resurfaced it and installed new hardened intake seats. Now, I want to match port the intake with the head, smooth out the transition between the valve seat and the port and do a general smoothing. I will include pictures of my progress. Here is a picture of the three angle job on the seat. I'm not really happy with the transition of the port to the seat so here goes.

I am in the process of building a turbo engine with an F54 block and a P90 head. After searching/reading many good pages of information on this site, my game plan is to have 300RWH. I have talked with Rebello Racing and Sunbelt Performance about doing the headwork. I'm sure that both shops can do a real good job but both are very expensive. Can anyone recommend other shops that I could talk with that do good work and might be less expensive? I live in South Carolina and I would like to use a shop in the Southeast. Thanks for any light you can shed on the subject. .....mayolives (mayolives@aol.com)

How can you distinguish between a valve train ticking noise and an exhaust leak ticking noise? Coming from rear of engine. Wasn't able to isolate with a stethoscope, my nose, or valve adjustment. Very clear ticking noise at at idle, not distinguishable at speed. Thanks, Victor.

Hey guys, All of the sudden my car started running horrible... It was right after I thought I was going to adjust the valves, and got the cover off and then realized i did not have the right wrenches. Also I put on an adjustable fuel regulator. But I tested it after that and It ran GREAT! It did not run out of fuel at 60 anymore... One day it was running fine, and then when i was driving the engine started getting fuzzy and weak like it was starved for something, very aparent too. I thought it was the fuel, so I adjusted that, no luck, carbs... no luck. And then I realized I had my choke still on:stupid: But only one of the chokes work on my DGV's (thats #4 on the …

I picked up a Green 73 on Ebay 2 weeks ago. My father-in-law flew to Little Rock to pick it up and drove ot home for me. "No rust" is what the ad said and "No Rust" is what I found. Also no carpeting, just rubber mats. Has a Griffith aluminum radiator with electric fan. Alternator bearing went out in New Mexico and Don removed the alt fan and then shimmed and bolted pulley back on. Replaced broken driver's side exterior door handle yesterday and will attempt alternator and radiator back to stock if Superbowl doesn't interfer. Failed Arizona emission test, runs richer than Bill Gates. Has flat tops. But I have a Z to drive.

I'm swapping an L28 straight from a 280zxinto my 240Z. Should I swap the front engine pulley with the 240z one or just keep the 280zx one? The 280zx one seems chunkier. How do they hold at high revs?(7000rpm only, not trying to kill the engine here) I have a vauge memory of someone saying they don't cope with the revs. Thanks Scott

Aviation Fuel 1 2

Whats anybodys opinion on running aviation fuel in their Z. The local airport (not a major airport) has fuel with a 110-112 octane rating. Would you mix half with pump gas (93 octane) or would you run a tank full of 110 octane every once in a while. I've always heard that you should run the highest octane available from the pump in our Z cars.
