Well the clutch on my 72 240z is finally takeing a crap, won't even spin the tires dumping into 1st anymore. So pretty soon its time for a new one. I'm wondering what kind you reccomend. I'm wanting under $200, but the cheaper and better. I want something thats going to hold up for atleast a year with the way I drive. I'm more into "rev up to 6 grand and dump the clutch and make some smoke" as opposed to feathering the clutch when I race. I do race, not regularly, but I do my fair share of track and street raceing in the summer. Nothing seriosly done to the motor, just pretty much a stock rebuild with ported heads, and backcut valves right now. And intake and exhaust mod…

i decided to check the cylinder pressure on my 70 240Z. all were between 150 to 155. which to me is great. now the thing that has me bothered is that number 1 and 2 cylinder plugs where clean and just slighty tan and the rest were very dark tan almost black which i expected anyway because of it getting colder and me enriching the mixture. what would cause the first to plugs to be so clean and the rest somewhat dark and looking as if they had been run rich. (as they should look) any ideas thanks in advance EZ

Just curious if there were ever any dabblings with supercharging by the Nissan folks. Currently, a supercharged version of the truck has been available here in the US for a couple years, but I am not aware of it being offered in any other models. I'm wondering if the factory ever played around with it in the '60's or '70's for competition or in some obscure model. Come in: HS30-H. steve77

Howdy... Earlier today I was running the '74, I had an intake rocker arm come off under acceleration. All seems fine now, got 'er back on and adjusted it up, nice and quiet again and hitting on all six. What would cause this? It wasn't over revved, and hasn't seemed noisy. Motor seems fine, although tomorrow I think that I will adjust all the valves just to play it safe.... And yes I adjusted them hot.... Thanks! ~Brian

Hello fello Zers I think my headgasket is on its way out. Or possibly warped or cracked head. Heres the scenario.... Start car in morning, no problem. Engine reaches operating temp no problem. Stop engine to get something from the store lets say 10 minutes. Start car, idles rough, and 10 sec. later I'm a stanley steamer! Were talk'in locomotive type steam out tailpipe! This lasts about 2 min, while its steamin' the idle has smoothed out. after the two minutes of steamin' all is well again. WTF! Here's some more to ponder. If upon getting to the store, I release the pressure in the cooling system, when I start the car after the 10 min in the store scenario, the car does …

Greetings, My "well I bought it for parts but I guess a little bit of work wouldn't be a waste of money" '71 now looks sufficiently well-dressed not to concern the neighbours, other for the fact that it takes a minute of turning it over b4 it comes to life if its been sitting for a few days. Various experiments have led me to the concusion that the fuel is draining from the bowls when it sits overnight. I'm assuming there should be some sort of one-way valve around the place preveting the good stuff from driaing away, but aren't sure where to start. Anyone have any suggestionswhre to look or alternative hypotheses? Cheers Damian Percy '71 240 in Adelaide, South Australia…

If you are running a late 70's L28 engine in an early 70's 240z, what is the best kind of radiator to use? Can you use a radiator from a 280z? Are they all interchangeable like the engines are? What is the recommendation. Thanks guys
