I have an N42 head/N42 bottom end engine that I added triple Webers to this last year. I am enjoying them immensely. I wanted to port match and unshroud the valves to get best air flow and enhance performance. I believe the N42 head is a good option for headwork, but am wondering if the FI notches on the intake ports will cause any issues on port matching? I wanted input from those of you that know about this much more than I! I appreciate your thoughts. Stephen

A question on the head gasket. There are 2 oil passage locations through the head, one up front, one in the middle. Shouldn't both locations on the head gasket have the copper sealing ring? Mine only has one on the front. Any head gasket preferences out there? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's time to start the project thread to inform the world and conversely have the world inform me on the installation of my Rebello 3.0 liter stroker motor. I approached Dave a year ago about a year ago with a nebulous idea of what I wanted. I told him I want Torque and horsepower, but not at the expense of driveability. I want my wife, who already loves the way the car looks, to also be willing to get in and ride. Dave suggested his 3.0 liter stroker offering. I had an L28ET block to use, and the rods for that combination are L24. So Dave provided the rods and used my block and crank. But what head? I had two on hand. One, the turbo head from my block, would have resulte…

Found out today what was going on with no. 6 cylinder. Plug was wet with oil. Drove it really hard over the weekend. I pulled the valve springs and the valve seals. Lo and behold the intake guide snapped off at the base of the head. Never saw that before.

Just installed a coolant reservoir tank to my champion 3 row radiator. It´s working better now. Anyway, the car is still presenting some sluggish acceleration when stuck on a 5 to 10 mins short traffic. As advised previously my car engine is modified to 2.6 with oversized pistons and i was wondering if using a hotter plug such as NGK BP5ES will solve the problem when coming out of idle in order to obtain a smooth acceleration or this has nothing to do at all?

From what i understand in my searches, the thread for the valve cover breather is a bilok 1/2 NPT. Does anyone know where to source fittings for this? I'm looking to obtain a right-angle to 8AN fitting. Thanks!

While putting together my motor I'm trying to use the original factory finish for engine parts and fasteners. The following thread is great and covers most everything, but doesn't include all the bolts and plating types. For instance, what color is the timing marker? Has this info been consolidated somewhere? Pictures help, but nothing beats a list. Also, for the natural aluminum finish, what are folks using to preserve it? Or maybe nothing? Thanks, Ken

First off, forgive me if this should have gone in the Parts Swapping forum, but since I'm looking for Datsun parts info I think this is a better place... I am doing the Subaru swap, and while I totally understand what my options are with the axles, I'm less clear on what I want to do with the input end. The Subaru propeller/drive shaft companion flange is different from the Datsun one. No surprise given the 41-year gap between their manufacture. What IS surprising is the sheer number of Datsun companion flanges that were used with just three differentials (r160, r180, & r200). My first question is this: does anyone know if any of the other companion flanges will…
