HI guys, I need your help. I've been searching the whole web (almost) and still don't know more than before I started my search. I want to swap my L28 flywheel/clutch to a 240mm unit. I use a stock 4-speed gearbox (out of my 240z). I've read that the 280z 2+2 as well as later 280zx turbo cars use a 240mm flywheel. However, if I look up the flywheel at rockauto, I always end up finding the same (225mm) flywheel for all models (240z-280zx), even though it says 280 2+2: Rockauto I also heard a SR20DET clutch + some other flywheel could work.. If someone had a parts number or a list of all required parts for a swap..that would be super awesome!! Thanks!

Has anyone tried a dynamometer application on a smartphone or tablet? I thought it might be a good idea to find one that actually works, and get familiar with it with the regular car before trying it with the Zed. Almost anything ought to be better than the "seat-of-the-paints" testing. Some apps use the accelerometer sensors, some have you drive from zero to 7000 RPM (or the redline) or just start at a crawl and go to about 60MPH or so. Most of the applications also need inputs like the vehicle weight, driveline losses, frontal area, drag coefficient, etc., and a mount that is strong and vibration-free. If they really work and provide reasonable results, the…

I received a manifold gasket order from OEM Parts Haus, ebay seller. worst experience buying a part EVER! Issue: they shipped my manifold gasket in bubble wrap; just threw the uncardboxed gasket in bubble wrap and shipped it to me. Bizzaro. Who does that?! so yeah the gasket was all jacked up and unuseable. The owner gave me this run-around about email not working blah blah blah. he didnt really seem to care. I say buyer BEWARE of ordering from this seller on eBay. Sent from my LG-D850 using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Higuys, I was using Water Wetter during the summer, and I can also say that the temperature gauge was reading slightly lower than usual since adding the Water Wetter. But winter is coming and I won't be driving the car, so I'm wondering if I should do anything with the coolant. Will coolant with Water Wetter added freeze during a normal winter (30 to about -5 F) or can you spike the coolant wit an anti-freezing additive? You wouldn't want to risk damage to the engine just to save a few bucks, but switching back to full-strength antifreeze is a bit too much to just sit in an unheated building too. You'd have to flush the whole cooling system several times w…

https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/anaerobic-gasket-makers-flange-sealants/permatex-anaerobic-flange-sealant/ for this the two places one on the block where the rear main bolts and some on what looks like the inside groove of the bearing cap where the rubber side seals go. Not it give very specific coverage areas, but the illustration leave a bit unclear on the bearing cap, I ASSUME its just applied to one side of the groove. I search and search and searched, seems so many conflicting info, thought I would bring it up again.

The resurrection project will need a complete engine rebuild. Slowly moving along with the work as time and money permits. Disassembly requires little money so I have the head removed and prepping it for machine work. Besides the 3 broken studs, the rear exhaust was snapped off beneath the head surface when I bought the car, the other 2 I snapped with the disassembly process. The front cam bearing is seized on a rusty camshaft. The rear 3 slid right off, the #2 bearing needed just a slight bit of persuasion after several days of spraying Blaster. #1 is still tight. Questions for getting head ready for machine work. Should the oil galley plugs be removed? Should …
