Gentlmen I wish to replace the carpets in my 72z - this is NOT a restoration, but I want to be somewhat period sensitive - look style carpet will be used I want to carpet the transmission tunnel and the area above the door scuff plates - I am not a fan of the diamond vinyl in these areas. can you give me some advice? - get a custom intaller? - is there a molded kit from a later year? - maybe 260z,(I could do the work myself) - some other multi piece kits out there to use? I see a ton of suppliers on the internet - Any help would be appreciated regards Dave

So I started this project about a month ago to replace my heater core (which broke about 20 years ago). In the process I realized that the fresh air vent wasn't working, so i pulled out the controls to see what was up. Sure enough, one of the pins had come out (see pic #1). the hole that it goes in looks okay in the picture, but was actually broken, so I did the best I could to JB Weld it all back together and it actually worked perfectly. Then put it all back together. Done... Just out of curiosity, I went to nisssanparts.cc and looked up the part number for the controls. They had the part with a price, so I figured "why not" and bought it. I got a call from t…

and cannot afford to have the clock refurbished. It did not bother me at all. I went to the auto parts store and saw this desktop clock that looks like it's gonna fit on the non working Z clock. Test fit it and it worked. I used a double sided tape for the body to hold on to the frame Routed the wire for the 1.5v battery for replacement light still go through the side, so when you turn the dash lights, it still looks like a stock Z clock. The needle (seconds and hour hand) will fit directly to the desktop clock but the hole where the needle sits needs to enlarge a little bit. but i like this one.

Does anyone know the history of these Center Console Arm Rests? Are they after market items? Still available? I am relocating the pad from my 70Z console to the 71 Z console because I really like it and I drive the 71 every day. (Not to mention, the JCCS judge gave me the evil eye on my 70Z indicating it wasn't a stock part). Also saw the pad on this photo, but this pad looks a bit taller and nicer than mine. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/album.php?albumid=177 Thanks, Rich

Ok, I bought a new vinyl panel for the inside of the hatch. It didn't come with any holes in it. The old one was attached via those little plastic pins that are used to attach all the plastic panels. It also had some sort of black sealer around the inside edge, probably to seal out exhaust gas. I like the look without the plastic pins, but that leaves me with using glue, which I'm concerned wouldn't hold. Has anyone had any luck using just glue? If so, what glue did you use? If I have to drill holes in this panel, does anyone have any tips on how to do it without messing up the vinyl? I'm thinking just put a piece of tape over it and drill. The attached pictur…

Does anyone know if this little vinyl boot is still available? It's the one that conceals the wires coming out for the console and going up into the dashboard. Mine has overspray on it and it would be nice to have a new one.

I have a 1971 ashtray in need of repair. The plastic shoulder that the left hinge pin is screwed into has broken and been lost along with the hinge pin. Does anyone have a hinge pin for sale or know where to get one? Secondly, has anyone had luck rebuilding lost or broken plastic parts? The ashtray is in presentable shape otherwise...
