I just wanted to show you this cool conversion to make a series 2 steering wheel look like series 1 steering wheel. (Picture shown is JDM Series 2 steering wheel) You cut a piece off an aluminum panel in a shape of the slots, and then fit it right in without using any glue. Make sure it is tight fit. This conversion is still in process by a shop in Torrance,CA, since this is kind'a killing free time project.......If you pay someone to do it, it would be cheaper to buy a real Series 1 steering wheel after all. Oh, well....... (Courtesy of M. Matsuoka at M's Factory in Torrance, CA ) Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Getting ready to replace the door plastic liner and need recommendations. Do I go with the MSA replacement plastic or a Dynamat sheet instead? Thanks.

A couple of years ago there was a discussion concerning stress relief drilling of dash cracks here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22361&highlight=dash+crack+drill (didn't want to awaken the sleeping old thread controversy) I just dropped my dash off in Tucson to be refurbed and have a small crack repaired and had a moment of clarity and remembered to ask the guy if that would work and he said that was exactly what he was going to do to stop it from going further. He said there was a slight chance it might resume in another directon but this would stop the current crack from further progress. Thought someone might need to know.

Hi all, I remember my delight when I pulled up the hatch carpet on my old '75 and found a couple of odd-shaped storage compartments in the forward part of the hatch area. The way the carpet was hinged, the compartments seemed rather useless, so I didn't use them -- and forgot about them. Now with my '78, I've been looking at the hatch area design. Of course I have the false floor (which I've decided should probably stay, after all). Underneath the forward part of the floor are the two storage compartments, without lids. That's a lot of wasted space. I'm also looking at the big subwoofer sitting in the back of my hatch area, and that's a whole lot more wasted space. I…

I just picked up this super clean '72 240z but I am installing harnesses and therefore, some aftermarket seats. The car has some really clean stock, brown seats in it but I can't seem to find any for sale anywhere. I'm trying to figure out what a fair price for them would be without under or over pricing them. Below are some pictures and the following is just the price of seat covers (which are all I've been able to find and why I can't get a good idea of what they're worth): http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from=R40&_trksid=m39&_nkw=240z+seat Pics of my seats: I just had these pics of the interior so I'll try to take some more detailed ones intentional…

So I am ready to replace the original stereo in my 72 240Z. (It will go into a box for now) I'm looking for options. I have seen the retro-sound from MSA. I am interested to see if anyone has found other options that fit/adapt without butchering the face/console. Thoughts? Thank you.

Hey guys, My 78' 280z fuel gauge is not working. When I turn the key the gauge moves but does not go between the empty and fuel area, instead it sits to the side. This makes me believe that my fuel sending unit is ok, but the gauge itself is the problem. If anyone had this problem.. was a simple gauge replacement the fix or am I wrong that my sending unit is at fault. thanks! -bee

I've done some searching, but am running out of time. Earlier this evening I came upon a 280Z 2+2 on a flatbed trailer. I left a note on the truck asking: Is the Z coming or going? If going, please call ... Anyway, it's going to the junkyard tomorrow. He agreed to let me take whatever I wanted from it before taking it to the junkyard, but since the price is free, I don't want to delay him too much. So, will the seats from a 280Z 2+2 fit in a 240Z? I'm sure they will fit -- somehow -- so I guess the real question is, is it a drop in installation, one involving minor modifications or one that threatens to block passage through the pearly gates due to a large number of…

Due to an unfortunate slip by the fellow installing the seats in my '78 Black Pearl, I am in need of the interior vinyl trim piece covering the wheel well behind the driver's seat. Please reply by e-mail if you have one available at a reasonable price. Normal wear is acceptable - I've owned the car for 31 years. Thanks in advance.

Vintage Air's Gen II Mini does not have a fresh air intake. I like the option for fresh air to be pumped through the fan into the cabin, so I did a bit of fabrication. * No original Datsun parts were damaged in this installation. First thing I needed was a fresh-air inlet into the squirrel cage fan. That was easy, just cut a hole and invalidate the warrantee on my evaporator. (see pic) I started by making a plenum to attach the hose, but found it worked just as well to insert the hose in the hole. (2nd pic).
