ZParts owner Eric H. and I are trying to confuse each other.... I have a '70, 01\70, undoubtedly a Series 1 car, which I bought new. I also have a fuse cover/ash tray that I purchased (not from Eric) that allegedly fits Series 1 consoles. I have the original console in the car. The fuse cover/ash tray does not fit. Eric says I have a Series 2 console with a Series 1 fuse cover/ash tray. The fuse cover/ash tray is narrower and longer than the opening in the console. Now I know I haven't replaced the console, and neither did the second owner. So what gives here? I'm getting ready to install a new stereo into my 73 this Winter, and I don't want to cut into my original console to make it work. Does anyone have an extra one in good condition, and one for a mock-up in poor condition, that they're looking to sell? My plan is to mock-up the install outside of the car in another junk console before trying it on mine. I want an extra console in good condition so that I can go back to 100% original if I need to. Is there a kit for mounting a CD player in 280 Z? I have a CD player but its just sitting in there, skips a lot. Maybe I am missing a part or something? Or is there a specific kit I can get? Thanks

Sad day at home, I think I am going to part out the z in the garage. We have been working on it for almost a year and are planning on moving to the Midwest. We decided to part it out. Does anyone know how much a dash in perfect condition with no cracks goes for? Its about 70% done. I will have plenty of nice stuff to sell.

The dash on my 280 was partially (mostly) disassembled when I bought it. Could someone post a series of closeup pictures moving from right to left to illustrate the locations of all the switches? In particular, I have no idea where the hazard switch is, what wraps around the steering wheel and what is in the dash center. Thank you

I am looking for info/ photos of the courtesy nissan and the msa air conditioning systems. I have the engine out to re-build and will paint the bay, rewrap wires and such. I think now is the time for the a/c install. I'm trying to decide which kit to buy. msa and courtesy are pretty much the same price. courtesy can ship right away, msa will special order. I am interested how they look under the dash and where the components fit under the hood (compressor location and dryer location along with any relays and plumbing). Does anybody have photos or experience of/ with these. neal g

Am I correct in recalling this part as a cigarette lighter for a Series I car with the lighter on the console? Pictures attached: I'm sorting through a box of stuff that I got with a Series I that I had a while back and this was in it. Patiently re-working . . . lot-O-work, bringing a '71 240 back to life. Generally speaking there is nothing usable left of the interior (except the seats), all are cracked, faded, and/or missing. Has anyone used the panels from ClassicDatsun or Best Euro Auto Parts found on E-Bay? What I'm concerned about is how well they've reproduced the grain and the thickness.
