Since I finally have a second vehicle to drive, I have been thinking about what I should do with the zx. My interior is complete, and in very good shape, with only a few cracks in the plastic (dash excluded, of course) but was faded noticeably in areas. Even though I think the tan and champagne colors work nicely, I have wanted to change it for some time. So I took the plunge and removed the bulk of the interior, cleaned with degreaser, wiped with clean strip, and sprayed with krylon fusion burgundy (satin). I know others have used the SEM products, but I couldn't find any in my area, so I went with what I had available. The interior is going to be a two tone burgundy…

Hello everyone, Over the weekend, I finally finished installing my Autolite Sport Comp Mechanical Oil Pressure & Temp Gauges. Now I want a matching Gas Gauge. Does anyone know the Ohm readings of the sending unit, both empty and full? It looks like I have several choices: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult3.asp?Type=Fuel_Level&Series=Sport_Comp&Units=E 1) 0 - 30 Ohms 2) 0 - 90 Ohms 3) 16 - 158 Ohms 4) 240 - 33 Ohms 5) 73 - 10 Ohms Thanks...Robert

I have some damage to my Center Console...It isn't THAT bad, but I am trying to restore the car as best as I can. I know buying a replacement is the obvious solution, but they are pretty expensive (200 - 300/for the 1975 console) Can cracks in the plastic be fixed anyway? DIY fashion? Any ideas? (I can uploaded photos if you need to see the damage)

The kids car is almost together, I think he has even opened up his own Classic Zcar account and will be posting pictures shortly! I am still however looking for a couple things for the interior of his 72 240z. I need to find a auto shifter handel. We were looking at after market shifter knobs but none of them will fit...the shifter is too thick. We also need to find a rear speaker bracket. We have one but the other one was made out of wood paneling! If anyone has these parts please PM me or shoot me an email at guzinski@comcast.net. Thanks all!

Today I went ahead and removed both car seats, and proceeded to remove the passenger compartment carpet. Rust is very minimal underneath the carpet (good news); although I was surprised to find a few of the rubber seals unplugged. Removed all carpet and under-material (not sure what its called...) I am planning on buying a carpet kit and redoing the interior, although I was curious if buying the cut and molded carpet comes with the premade cuts for such areas as the seatbelt buckles, center console clips for the e-brake; and then additional prepared area for the seat buckle mechanism itself. I am just looking to make the carpet installation pretty hassle free, and i wan…

Hi everyone, The interior on my car is black but notice a few place where the black is peeling. The original color was blue and still seem to be in very good shape. So would like to remove the black paint on the trim (which have been change color very well) without damaging the original blue color? Anybody can give me a hint on this? Thanks in advance, Joce

It has been quite a while since I took my ventilation system apart, and now I can't remember how the center vent/hose attaches to the back of the vent controls :knockedou ! I know it matches up size wise (see pic below), but I must be missing something that secures it to the back of the control unit! I appreciate the assistance!!

Has anyone replaced the driver's side window regulator? One of the things wrong with my car, is that the window regulator needs to be replaced. The window will crank down, but then getting back up is impossible without moving the actual glass physically. I suspect I will need to remove the door panel then replace some parts; are these parts (regulator) hard to come by? Special Order? Thanks!

Hi guys! Thought I'd share a tip I came up with today. When I dyed the magnolia seats in my XJ6, I used an expensive water based acrylic latex colorant that I special ordered fom a place on-line. I went through quite a number of bottles of the stuff at $20.00 each, but it came out looking super nice and very original, so I was OK with the expense. I got to thinking that the stuff was pretty much the same as the stuff they sell at the craft shop in the little $1.00 bottles. So I went down to the Benjamin Franklin store and bought several different shades of maroony red "Americana" paint in the 2oz bottles. I did a color matching test using a never installed red Nissan se…

Has anybody had success with any of those "systems" that ar supposed to repair stone chips, sctratches, etc.? I have a few spots where the paint just peeled/flaked off ( probably wasn't properly sanded before painting) and a few chips, and could use repair. thxZ

As I gutted my project 76 280, about 90% of the sound deadener/ heat shielding came off the floorboards (NO RUST!! YAY!!!!!), tranny tunnel and deck. Anyone know of a decent replacement material available? This stuff looks like truck bed Rhino lining without the grit. I was thinking of just adhereing some heavyweight rubberized sheet to the steel and covering that with insulating foam under the carpet.....
