My Choke keeps on moving back up when i drive and the choke light keeps coming on, so i keep pushing it down, and moves up again in a minute. is there anyway to prevent this. without duct taping the sucker down.

For a long time now my passnger side door has been really bad at squeaking when I drive. Its not just when I'm going over a bump, it squeaks just about constantly when I drive. If I reach over and pull on the door, i can make it go away for the most part, but its not exactly practical to drive sprawled across the passenger seat holding the door closed. Is there something I can tighten or adjust to make this stop? The door doesn't feel loose or close unevenly. If anyone has suggestions I would appriciate it. This squeaking really makes it unpleasent to drive the car.

Can anyone tell me how far below the curve in the door (just above the door handle) the door reinforcement goes across? and how far down it extends. I have some door dings that I'd like to have the paintless dent removal guy take out but if they are behind the reinforcement he wont be able. -Trevor

lets suppose for project cost,resale value and personal choice if buying said car, would you prefer to have a full dash cap or a profestional recover job with material that closely matches but is softer? the car is a 76, near perfect mostly original condition. the major flaws, the dash has the cracks and dented gas tank. only 98k on it. so which would you prefer? full cap or recover? why? i know i ask the dumbest $^!#. thanks for the opinions. tony

Pulled the dash out of the 280Z to try and find out more about/on the dealer installed AC system and why it won't cool like it should. I know it works because it gets cold and I do feel some air flow. What I came across was the insulation for the vents and inside of the duct hoses is shot. I kind of expected it though. My questions are. What’s the best solution to fixing the insulation is. Also what can be used to replace the torn and damaged duct hoses under the dash?

Ok, after a particularly exhaustive search of the archives, a trip back through Mr. Humbles book, a lenthy google search, and several attempts of my own. Has anyone been successful at restoring the finish on the later 240z Chrome ashtray cover? (removing the scratches and wear on the chrome) I have tried: 1)Metal Polish-probably the most successful non-altering precedure-does nothing to the scratches, but does brighten the plating. 2)Chrome plating-new chrome stays dull, but fills in the embossed texture on the cover-thus altering its appearance in both texture and reflectivity and brightness. It does look good, but does not match any other finish in or on the car. 3) Me…

I am recovering my seats and just want to know what color to respray the black seat hardware ??? I want to clean it and sand some minor rust and repaint before I reassemble it !!!!! That is the black metal along both side of the seats. Is it a black semi gloss ???

im just doing a little refurbishing on my z and noticed that the rectangular panel under the hatch is attached by 4 screws and 4 black rivet clips, but none of the rivets have the little pin inside of them. i tried inserting the pins but they simply wont go all the way through. even if i try forcing the pin in the rivet, the pin will bend or break before it makes it half way through the rivet hole. does anyone know, or could anyone check to see if rivets or screws were originally used to attach the panel to the hatch? these pictures might give a better idea of what im talking about
