I noticed that the early heater control panel letters (OFF VENT HEAT etc...) on the slide controls are white. I know that the NOS panels all seem to have silver lettering. Does anyone know what the production story is on the white lettering as opposed to the silver lettering? Chris?

Guys: #248 is in the shop right now finishing up being stripped. I'm trying to pull together all of the parts to finish off the restoration. One of the parts that was missing on the car was the heater control panel. I recognize that I could drop $200 on a brand new NOS piece, but was hoping that someone might have an extra that is in nice shape that they would be willing to sell to me. Anyone? Hi All, I bought a perfect NOS console for my 73 Z. I am replacing the original console because the mounting studs for the choke lever had broken off. The previous owner had then drilled through and used bolts. It didn't look good. Not wanting to repeat this failure mode I would like to hear what others recommend for mounting the choke lever in a way that won't be as likely to break. Also, what should I use to lubricate the choke cable? Thanks! Al 73 240Z 47k miles. 2nd owner!

Of three gauges in the middle of the dash, the middle light went out. Any one know the easiest way to replace and with what size bulb? It's a 1973 240z, just picked it up on Sat., do these cars have brights on them, I looked but I couldn't find any signs of them.

Hey Guys, I'm considering putting one of the sound deadening products into my 73 240Z. I have read through the archives covering your fabulous inputs regarding this subject. However, I'm wondering how the various products have held up over time. Has anyone encountered any additional rust problems on the floor, doors, side panels etc.. Has the material stayed in place well. You get the idea....I'm looking for the post op analysis on the materials and techniques used. thanks

I posted this question on Zcar.com but I also wanted some input from another source. Although, some of you will also read tid there too. I am planning on putting down some peel and seal for vibration/sound control in my 240z. I know I could go with the more expensive name brand stuff but my dad just put some Peel and Seal on his roof and he has a lot left that he will give me for my car (key words "Save money!"). Besides, i have heard that Peel and Seal can be just as effective as the big name stuff. After some research through using the "search" feature and looking through other sites I learned that there are two kinds of Peel and Seal. With and without a shiny foil lay…

Are the 510s the only other Datsun window crank that will fit on the S30's? Or will any of the "retainer clip" type cranks (pre1980) fit?
