Evening Everybody, This is kinda a weird situation, or maybe not when some body explains to me what is going on? I beleive I have a 1975 280Z. The car has a Alpha GTO body kit . The VIN # is HLS30 224694 The car had doors mounted on the car and came with a spare set of doors. The mounted doors worked perfectly well open and closed using exterior door handles worked locks worked ..so cool but were rusty The mounted doors did not haved interior door pulls, or interior panels installed. Now I tried to install the "extra doors on the car as they were in better (Quantity and Quality of Rust) shape. Using the hinges that were on the car, I attempted to install the extra doors.…

I am trying to replace the heater hoses with some nice braided hoses I just bought, as well as the control valve. In addition to being in a brutal place to work while twisted up under the dash, the screws that hold it in place were so stripped out by the PO that the philips head is how a mangled mess. As you can see from the picture, things are corroding in there so I really want to replace the valve while I am there... Any ideas how I can get these screws out in such cramped quarters? I can just get a screwdriver on it but no amount of torque that I can get on them do anything but strip it worse..... I'm sure this is an age old problem but any advice would be appre…

I ordered the B-Quiet Ultimate to line my floors and doors. My carpet came today, however the B-Quiet won't be here until next week. Once I install the B-Quiet do I just lay the carpet over it, or tach it down. Also does there need to be a barrier between the carpet and the B-Quiet? Any hints or tips would be appreaciated. Thanks, Randy

Hi guys. I'm at the point in my restoration where I want to replace the (original) heater hoses with some new OEM hoses. I have the molded hoses from Nissan all ready to go on. I was looking at where the hoses come into the passenger compartment last night, and I'm wondering if there's enough room to get my hands up in there to the heater valve without removing the heater blower housing and motor, or if I'm going to have to start disassembling stuff under there.... If it does have to come out, what's involved? Just the four bolts to the firewall and the control cable, or is it more involved than that? I have a FSM and I should look at it, I know, but I'm at work and it's …

Dash pocket? Okay, what is this? Was it to replace the radio if you don't want one or didn't get that option? Maybe I'm missing something. Not a glove box I don't think. Here's the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/70-71-EARLY-240Z-CENTER-FACE-DASH-POCKET-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ018QQitemZ280055247644QQrdZ1

I just bought a 78 280z 2+2 locally for $1300. The interior is in pretty good shape. The chrome and woodgrain trim on the door panels have lost their chrome, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a set of trim for them, if they are even available? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

OK, maybe no one else will get excited about this, but I'm pretty stoked. I got a radio today for my early '71 240Z. Since my goal for the car is not completely stock, but period correct (I want it to look like a typical mildly-modified 240Z as they were driven in the mid-70s), I decided a while back that a factory AM radio wasn't quite what I wanted. After all, large numbers of those AM radios got yanked and replaced by aftermarket AM/FM/cassette decks. So that was what I decided I wanted to find - a vintage shaft-type AM/FM/cassette deck, even though I no longer own any cassettes. Well, I found it, and it's near perfect. It's a Pioneer KP-8000 Supertuner dating from 19…

OOOPS, sorry I put this in the wrong forum when I submitted it the 1st time. Anyway I sent my 76 280Z steering wheel to american stitches and they repainted my old wheel put on new padding which I requested to be thicker than the old, put on new leather and it turned out great.Turnaround time was about 2 weeks and the cost was $ 250.00. The reason I had it done because all the new wheels were a smaller diameter and for a tall person they block the view of the speedo and tach.

On a 78 280Z- Does anybody have some good pictures of the way the vinyl and carpeting are applied to the floor & sides on a 280Z? I have the seats & front carpet out, and I'm going to see if I can do the carpets right this time: PO had the carpet wall-to-wall, and stuffed under the scuff plates. Also, it might help to have a pic of how the carpet lays under the seats. Mine were cut and just laid in between the seat rails. thx
