I am in the process of putting back the original radio in my '72. There is a fuse connector (blue wire) with the 2 white/white & black that I beleive are the speaker wires. The fuse connector is almost 3 inches long, could someone tell me what kind of fuse goes in there.

I am in the process of switching out the 1973 heater control plate (I assume 1973 because of the illuminated control option - see pic) to a more original and not broken pre 73 faceplate. The issue I am having is the heater controls don't seem to mount properly to the new faceplate. There is a oval shaped piece of plastic with 2 screw holes in it that block the way. Again I've tried to picture it. Does that piece of plastic need to be cut off somehow or do these look like incompatible heater controls with the faceplate? I am assuming the solution is to get new controls since I want to use the new faceplate but would like some input. 1 picture shows old faceplate (t…

Does anbody know if 6.5" Infinity Kappas will fit in the doors of a 240Z. I found a set for $179 on-line and would like to pick them up before they are gone! Thanks

You know- those knobs with the cut in letters and graphics like on the windshield washer switch, trip odomoter reset, ilumination reostat... What kind of cleaning solution works best for you? I ussume you're using a troothbrush to get into the grooves. I like to use the orange cleaner from the dollar store for everything, but havent gotten to try it yet; only used water so far. Also what wouldn't you use, or what stuff would dissolve the white paint? thx

Hello. I have a 1977 280Z. It is a copper brown exterior. I will be needing to replace the carpet and seat covers and want them to match as close to the origional interior colour as possible. Does anybody know the name of the origional colour of the interior seats and carpet which I can try to describe the colour to be a butterscotch colour. As well the seat has vinyl sides with a velour type insert in the center. The driver seat is shot, and the passenger seat is perfect. Is this style of origional seat cover still avaliable. Any recommended suppliers? Thanks Dave

On my 72 240z I dont have any lever inside the cockpit for a choke cable, but I see 1 cable going to one carb under the hood. Wheres the lever or levers suppose to be ? and Why do I have a Choke Lite on my dash ? btw, the groovy shag carpet in the pic is a throw back from the Zs 70 past, installed by original owner many moons ago Ive sense removed it :stupid:

Anyone know of a speedo you can swap from another type vehicle to replace the 0-85 they put in the early 80 cars. I had one from a Nissan Maxima that went to 130 or so that looked like it would drop in a Z console but was unsure of what rpm needed to make it work. My 300 nicely tells you that 1100 rpm is 60 mph put a drill on it and sure was. I've got a 81 turbo stock. I'm thinking most Japan speedos come from the same guys since they only have about seven real companies over there. Anyone tried this??? Anyone know what seats you can swap into a 85 300 turbo the originals are that leather vinyl mix and gone.

Hey guys, I "found" a place, that has dashboard resto's for a lot cheaper than most places....you may have heard about theses guys before, but I just wanted to spread the word.....they quoted my 77 280Z dash at $575.00. Here's the link: http://www.dashboardrestorations.com/

Hi all, A couple of monthis back the driver seat in my nearly perfect interior '72 240z, began to split at two points in the seams of the bottom-half seat. Barely, noticeable at first but, as you would guess, it's gotten worse and is now obvious. Now that it's irritating me everytime I see it, I know it's time to replace the cover. I know that MSA, VB, Too Intense Restoration, and Classic Datsun Motorsports all sell reupholstry kits. What I would like to know is which vendor supplies a kit that is most like the originals with regards to the pattern. Classic Datsun advertises their kit as the ones used in the "Z store" program, so that might be a good start. I belie…

Hello Gents, My car is a '71 240Z. I am wondering how much I should budget for the following serviceable interior parts in good condition (assuming I can find them): 1. Dash, complete with no cracks 2. Door panels, complete with good chrome trim, armrests, window cranks, etc. 3. Steering wheel 4. Center console, including ashtray and fusebox cover. Thanks, Gary S.

I'm getting ready to put in a new stereo and (naturally) antenna in my '75 280Z. Whats the best way to route the antenna cord? I picked up a fairly nice aftermarket antenna (non-power) but I am not certain the cord is long enough. I picked up some "extension" for it, but now I might end up with too much or not enough; one extreme or the other. Is there a way to splice the cord so as to not have too much?
