My 71 240z has a level next to the choke for what would be a mechanical cruise control. Everything is there but the bracket at the gas pedal to hold the cable end. Has anyone any experience with this and/or does anyone have the mystery bracket I'm in need of?

I am currently in the process of panting my steering wheel, and I am angered by the paint. I have read the threads on this site and I am also following the article in SZM (fall 2001). I have primered and painted the wheel using the same paints in the article. Everything looks good, but the paint can be easily scratched off by a finger nail. It is not tacky in any way, but it just comes off too easily. I painted my fuel rail using the same paint maybe two months ago, and it is as solid as a rock. What gives? It says on the paint can that for the hardest surface, it can be heated to 300 Degrees Fahrenheit. Is it ok to put the steering wheel in the oven? The rim b…

Gents, I am working to buy a '73 240 from out of my area (another state), and the owner sent me a video as he drove the car. I noticed that on there was a red indicator light on the speedometer just under the the odometer. Can someone please tell me what this light "indicates"? The light did not got out immediately after engine start, but did go out after about 30 sec of driving. Since the Z's have an oil pressure guage (correct?) I don't think it's that. Can someone clue me in? So far, I think I'm getting a rather sweet deal on this car so I don't want to wizz off the seller with too many nagging questions. :tapemouth Many thanks in advance!

Am getting ready to put my Momo steering wheel on and was wondering if I should go with just a Momo hub adapter or use a quick release hub. Have read what I was able to find in previous posts. Anyone have any long-term experience with a quick release? Does it get loose after many take-offs and put-backs? There’s one on Ebay (picture below-# 7960519634) for $79.00…. any comments about how good this might be? George

so i finally got suspension: koni adjustables w/ ground controls. i need a dash but i can't find anything anywhere. theyre all dash caps/covers and whats the point if i dont even have a dash!!!! i'm looking for a decent used dash for a '71 240z, couple cracks are fine just no earthquake sizes. i live in the LA area pretty close to Glendale, CA. if anyone can provide some resources or advice i'd really appreciate it. thanks

I bought some FTO seats quite a while back complete with rails and everything to fit into my 260z. I only just finished fitting the first one the other day. It was quite a lot of work (not for me, my dad did just about all of it) but the results are great, they are soooo much better than the standard items. We had to do away with the orignial FTO rails altogether as they are just far too wide, build a new frame for the seats and also attach the seat back to the frame (the back is normally attached to the rails, not the seat bottom). As they are now they only _just_ fit, as they are very wide up top, and wide down the bottom. Have done away with the standard seatbelt guide…

Ok, a little background info. I have an 85 300zx at the moment. The only thing good about the car, other than the T-Tops is my system.(Its worth more than I payed for the car heh) I was just wondering what the speaker set up was for the 240z because Im going to sell my 300 and get a nice rebuilt 72'. My 300 currently has 6.5's all the way around. And I just bought them all recently. But not recent enough to take them back So I was hoping I'd be able to get them in the 240z. Possible? I can't find anything on the speakers of a 240z. All the fit guides I have looked at either don't go back that far or don't have nissan/datsun. Any help is good. If they don't fit, advic…

My Z has an AC in it and I don't think I will use it, I think it worked but I think it just got unhooked bc it is a hp robbing son of a gun. does anyone know how much I should sell it for?? Thanks
