Is there a late model shoulder harness seat belt system that will bolt into my 240 z. I'd like to find a retractable type.

I am currently attempting to restore an original pair of 240z seatbelts as seen on the Australian specification cars. The original Nissan factory belts were removed and replaced with Kagnol brand belts prior to sale. I have two sets and am missing one small part to make a complete single set. I need a metal cover which goes over the adjusting bracket. It goes on the piece which mounts to the rear hatch area. I need one cover. If anyone has one lying around please pm me or reply to this discussion thread. If anyone has a complete set and isnt sure what I am looking for please let me know and Ill try and arrange a picture. Many thanks. Regards Joseph Gauci

Morning all, Hope you had a great Thanksgiving - I know I did because my fiberglass dash FINALLY showed up on Friday. I'd been in dash-less for most of the year actually so boy was it nice to see it arrive. It came in a big brown box but without any packing material inside - no worry though as it was totally unscathed and is exactly what I've been wanting all along. I couldn't find anything wrong with it at all... Yeah! Now the research & hunt for the right set of gauges begins... Maybe by '05 it will be in the Z? hahaha -e

No, the problem is not as serious but need some attention. Once in a while, screws become loose and fall down as heater control knobs or seat belt pillar post holders. Some suggestions to have these old screws to stay thight. The car is fully original, never restored and close to concours condition. Thanks, Richard

I sold these to a gentleman on ebay. Some of you may have seen the auction. I was told by the former owner of my Z that they were a dealer option. He is good friends with the original owner and knows a lot of history on the car. I didn't like them or need them, so I sold them. I was suprised by how many people watched the auction and made off-auction bids. Now that the buyer has them, he says they are not for the Z. This could be true, I suppose. They are not as long as factory thinner mats, but they are very thick rubber and could not make those bends. I have seen aftermarket rubber mats for the Z that are the same size and shape. I hope they aren't from a truck! …

i have a early z and im looking through the victoria british im looking at the interior pieces. i have a early 260 and it favors the 240 more with the pieces i pulled out. so my question is can i use the 240 Vinyl with the diamonds. i know the doors have different handles. my main concern is the rear quater panels. they only have them for the 240. the 260 and 280 parts list does not have it. but i pulled the panels out my 260 but they where kinda cracked.

Ok all, what is the best way to resto the steering wheel. Mine has that normal grainy dull, dirty look to it. Is it real wood, seems like some form of composite? Thanks in advance

Anyone tried to install speedo and tach AFTER installing dash cover on? To make it possible to remove these later on, without taking dash cover off again? Planning to install cover, so just wondering how I should do it... Leif 72 240z

I live in west los angeles. I just got two quotes for body work on my 1973 240z. The original color of the car is Datsun color code 115. It was repainted in red by the P.O. The car has a scratch like dent on the passenger door ( not deep at all) one ding on the rear tailight panel and one ding on the left corner edge of the hood. No rust. I love red 240Z's but the P.O replaced the dash with a crack free one and the engine compartment and wheel wheels are still looking good with the original blue metallic paint so I decided to go original. The interior is white ( aka beige or off-white). I need to have that restored as well. Any suggestions for body and interior shops in t…

I have wanted to start this thread for over a month now. This past summer I attended the National Z convention and while there I saw a Datsun competition seat in a 1970 1800sss. I was thinking that it was an option that the original owner chose, but the two sets of holes may be an indication that this seat has a few lives. Maybe one set matches up with a Z . I was very enthused not only about the seat, but the Bluebird as well. I could not believe that I even saw the seat in person. I talked with the owner of the car, who by the way is a very nice gentleman, and he said that he would sell me the seat when he replaced it with a Recaro. About 4 months later I bought…
