what goes on this metal L bracket coming out of fire wall where gas pedals hit it. its like a stopper but does some rubber bumper hook on it or something?? anyone know??

Please see attached photos....Many years ago I purchased this NIB radio to eventually install in my 78Z. At the time I purchased it, I thought that it was the original factory radio for a 78Z. I came to this conclusion by simply observing that, visually, it was identical to the original radio that came with my 78Z. My original equipment radio works, sorta, but has "issues". However, recently, I noticed that box label on this replacement radio states "KMS-2511Z" and "280ZX Coupe". The original radio is labeled "KMS-2411Z". I'm replacing the kick panel on the driver's side of my 1970 240Z, and I need to replace the rivet that holds it in. I've seen one online for $19 but that seems pretty steep for one plastic rivet. Has anyone found a better source or another part that will work for this application?

Getting ready to paint my 1971 240z and am dreading pulling the headliner and diamond vinyl as they are original and in fantastic condition. Is there any chance they will be able to be re-used or should I plan on purchasing new ones? If I have to buy new ones, can someone kindly point me to the most authentic pieces that are currently available? Thanks in advance!

I looked in the Owner’s manual and it says nothing about this Push/Pull thing. I assume it’s for the AC or vent system. It sort of a rotary housing with a slider that moves back and forth. Doesn’t seem to have a stop pushing it towards the front of the car. I had the fan blowing and couldn’t tell if it did anything when I moved it. I know someone here know what this thing is and what it’s supposed to do!

Today I'm doing various things to complete an early Z restoration. One of those things is installing replacement tool storage area doors, the plastic ones behind the seats. I bought the replacements from MSA as the originals were not in great shape. Their price is $79 https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic08j12/40-4495 They are made by dashtop.com, same folks that make the aftermarket ABS dash covers and other interior panels. They seem fine, small imperfections, not the topic of this thread, so I'm not going there, except to say that the label they apply to the inside of one of the doors is a Bee-autch to remove. I have a fully functional factory original antenna that I''m offering for sell to a fellow Z owner. His car is a 78Z. The problem/question I have is that I don't know what year model my antenna come out of. There are very few distinguishing markings on the exterior of the antenna...only a few numbers. We have concerns that different year model antennas mounted to the car body in different ways, using different brackets. I'll post 3 pictures...2 of my antenna, and one from my 78Z FSM. I am looking into the options for carpet in my 7/1973 240z and have some questions about what was original. My car didn’t have much of the interior when I bought it. It was kind of a husk on the inside. In reading about the carpet options it seems that generally people think the Newark Auto 11-piece kit is the best, followed by their 7-piece kit. Please disabuse me if this assumption if I’m wrong, but it’s what a few days of Google has turned up. I’m also seeing that “some cars” had rubber in place of 4 of the pieces, hence the 7-piece kit. Hello, Is it possible to pop the radio out by itself? I've undone the 2 bracket bolts on the sides and the faceplate corner screws on the front but it's still solidly in place. Does the whole heater control panel and faceplate have to come off to get the radio out? I'm cleaning up/removing the last of some CB and forward speaker wiring. Thank you.

I pulled the radio out of my 72' for the first time. It had an aftermarket Alpine 80's vintage dual shaft style radio. The previous owner had fabricated an aluminum box to hold the radio. It was just sitting in there. Is there a bracke thtat should be in there to hold the radio? I'm putting in a new Alpine unit that has a standard DIN chassis. Thanks, Pete

Has anyone purchased and installed the ZStore/MSA Vinyl Seat Kit OEM Style Upholstery Restoration Kits (https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic08f01) during 2020? If so, what is your opinion on the similarity of the vinyl grain pattern to the original vinyl that Nissan used? Thanks, Keith

Hi All, I have a 1970 240Z I bought a couple of years ago, and have been (slowly) redoing the interior. I'm not going for concours here, but I do try to get back to as close to 1970 as I can, when there is an option. There are millions of threads on Jute (I think I might have read all of them. Often more than once, but I have a memory leak). I started out with jute from a british roadster site. I didn't order enough, and found some on Amazon a while back. The british stuff was like Kat's yellow/blond color, the amazon stuff looked more like gray/multicolor carpet jute to me.
