The vinyl cover on my door sill plate(s) is starting to peel off. What are you bozos (oops- bros doing to refurbish those? Can you remove all the vinyl and polish or chrome? Vinyl looks cheap and I usually drag my shoe over it which is peeling the vinyl off. I like the clean look of the older look. Vinyl is so '70s... thx

Does anyone know if you can remove a tacho from a 260 (i have '74) from the back of the dash? The dashcap is hindering me from removing it from the front.

I am trying to be money conscious and learn how to work on cars (in all aspects). I might attempt to reupholster my 280zx, but I am not sure where to start. All I need to work on is the headliner (I ripped mine out), and the whole rear area near the hatchback (sides mostly). I've never done it before and it doesn't seem to be too difficult, but I've been told it is better to visit a professional and pony up the dough than to f*** up. I just don't seem to be happy by the fact that reupholstering my car professionaly will cost somewhere around 700-1500 dollars. Do any of you guys know any books, websites or people that I could talk to? Would any of you be willing to take th…

Hello everyone. I am restoring a 1970 240Z #11230. I am putting in a more powerful 2.8L motor, so it will not be stock. My question is, should I use the nicer Miata seats, with the speakers in the headrest, or refurbish the original seats. Any input would be helpful. Thanks, Rick.

I am looking around for aftermarket seats to go into my 240 and thought I would ask you guys whether you have had good results with any particular make or model. I am thinking of putting skyline seats. Anyway it would be great if you people could let me know what you've done.

Tore out all the old carpet padding today. Does that stuff ever stink after 32 years. It smells like an old basement. I need to find something modern to use that does not absorb moisture. Any ideas?

G'day all, I'm looking at purchasing a 1971 240Z, the problem is it has no interior... all carpets, panels and roofing are not there.. It does have a restored dash though, the seats are original but torn. I live in Perth, WA.. and was wondering if you guys would recommend anywhere to buy basically a whole interior or any other advise for the situation i'm in. Just trying to see what sort of price I would be looking at. Also if anyone has gone with a white interior, considering i'll be buying a whole new one... and if the black dash can be converted Thanks for any advice, Sean

That large plastic sheet behind the doorpanel which is meant to keep water away... Any recommendations on a particular replacement material before I go down to Home Depot and fish around for something that will work... I am trying to think where I could find rolls of the stuff and what it's "normal" use would be... -e

Anybody install these in a Z? I'm thinking of getting a pair for my 240 in black/grey for $540 each. Any problems with the fit, comfort or ergonimics? Thanks a lot.

is there a way to remove the black plastic handle off of the hand brake lever? On the roadster, it was glued, and with a twist and a pull, off it came. The Z's handle seems more stubborn. I'd like to take it off to sand out the scratches then hit it on the polishing wheel for the "Oh My!" shine.

I checked the forums but couldn't find one that would help desribe how to install a cd reciever. I'm just curious how any of you guys did it. I've seen pictures and people claim that they did the work themselves. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. p.s. I have a typical cd reciever... if that helps.

Hi Everyone, I've just sourced a new-old stock 240 centre console. I don't ever want it to crack around the choke lever mount so I was thinking of mounting the choke lever directly to the transmission tunnel rather than to the console itself.. I've heard of people doing this before, but never actually SEEN it, does anyone have any photos / descriptions of brackets etc they have constructed to mount the lever?
