So, I installed a new steering wheel today. Got it from MSA, and it came with their "Billet Hub". Looks nice. However, I can't for the life of me get the horn to work, or the turn signals to turn off. It looks like there is no way that the horn contactor that slides around on the copper ring is going to touch. One of the roll pins could not be installed in the same position as on the orignal wheel, although it was close. But it appears as though neither of them do anything. AND, they are both actually sticking out too far, although it's fairly obvious that they are not rubbing on anything. So it isn't that I inserted them too far. Anyway, I'm going to pull it ag…

Hey guys. I just recently gave my interior a good look through, and i noticed that on the passengers side interior door handle, that black cover piece is missing. You know the thing that is behind the handle in the little dish? Thanks guys

I just finished installing a replacment turn signal switch & lever. After replacing the plastic 2 piece steering column cover I noticed that the opening where the lever comes out seems seems a lot larger then needed. The lever I replaced had cruise control on it so it was similar to the wiper /lights lever and hid the opening completely. My long winded question is: was there a rubber piece similar to a shifter boot or grommet in this area? Thanks, Greg

Does anyone have a 240z with the original luggage straps still fitted? I'm interested in finding out the correct colour the straps should be before I replace mine. My current straps are silver-grey so I'm guessing the original colour is either that, black or tan (my car has a tan interior with black carpets). Or maybe someone has a '73 brochure which shows the luggage compartment in sufficient detail..? thanks.

I was digging around in my car today and found this strap. Its connected to the seat belt clip on the drivers side. Its about 6 inches long give or take. Reasinbles a chicken strap but it seems kinda strange to have that near the driver. Thanks Bill

Sorry for the poor description, but I've broken one of the nice little chrome/plastic caps on my passenger door's handle - the ones which cover the screws fastening the handle to the interior door panel. Any ideas where I can pick one (or two) of those up?? I have heard the items are no longer available separately from Nissan? :disappoin

When you pull the door panels off to among other things fix broken outside door handles, you have to remove the small black plastic trim piece inside of the interior door handle to get at the screw behind it which is the last thing holding the door panel on after you've removed the armrest and passenger pull strap... I think the Haynes manual calls this the "escutcheon"... I can imagine it's held in by a clip on one side or something like that so if I randomly pry at it I can easily see it breaking... The only insight in removing it the Haynes manual offers is to "remove the escutcheon"... ok great, but how? Can someone offer a tip or hint as to which side to attack it by…

Have installed a Hitachi, M/N KM-1520ZD, Car radio it matches the wiring diagram in 1974 Datsun 260Z sevice manual. I've got 5 wires coming off the radio: (1) Radio power and spreakers - blue w/fuse holder, white, white/black, (it was chopped off before i got my hands on it) (2) Ground Wire - Black (connector was chopped off before i got my hands on it) Needs a new lug connector (3) Radio light - red/blue with female bullet connector on the end. I just added from spares (it was chopped off before i got my hands on it) I want to return it to factory, down to the wiring. Does anyone know where to get the correct connectors for number (1)? I am curious about changing the color of seats. The reason i ask is there is a fellow nearby my place who is selling 240z seat skins only problem is they are white and not black. I know I could use Vinyl spray but does this stuff come off and i know it can run also so you have to be carefull when spraying. He wants ~$180 for the set of 2 which is prob reasonable anyone know of a professional process for changing the color or is it just not worth while? Oh and ideas on what it would cost to get them colored properly would be good. Gav:classic:
