Hey guys, im curious , has anybody replaced there dash say with a 300zx dash? or got a custom one , i was thinking about the 300zx or 200sx dash and was wondering if anyone has fitted one into their vehicle thnka Cameron

has anyone tried fitting Porsche rear seats into a Z, there seem to be a few for sale, and i think would look quite good, also anyone that has custom interior can you post it, just so i cant get ideas, there doesnt seem to be much in searching thanks cam

Whilst removing the RHS door panel to get at the broken( :tapemouth :mad: ) door handle (my fault..arrrrggghhhh), I noticed that in the bottom of the cavity, a rubber roller was sitting there loose. It must go somewhere, but I don't fancy pulling the window completely out just to find out that I could have put it back without going to all that trouble. Any ideas of where it is soposed to go???? Can I get it back without removing the entire mechanisium? Cheers

My interior looks quite good apart from the shift boot which looks rather old and tatty, it is also splitting around the top where the leather strips tie it down around the shifter, nasty! I am sure it is the original one, can someone confirm whether the original item was made of vinyl and not leather. Anyone had experience of purchasing this item new? Were you happy with the fit and originality of the replacement? And any recommendations as to where I should get one from? Thanks!

After going over the car replacing things that need to be replaced I've come across a lot of the previous owners "creative" solutions (substituting random fasteners is the big one!). The interior tail light panel on my car is screwed down with some silver/chrome screws that don't seem like they belong there. This seems like a place for some plastic rivets, not a screw with a pretty long pitch and a point at the end (to my untrained eye at least). On top of that, the holes these screws attached to underneath the panel didnt look like they originally had threads at all. I looked over my FSM and the microfiche CD and couldn't find a diagram or description of how it was origi…

Alright, if you saw in the main discussion, I posted a link to my datsun, the 280zx. Anyways, my interior is in poor shape too. Vinyl and carpet is no problem, but can anybody post for me a link to where I can get a new dash and other interior pieces? Also can somebody tell me what goes in the spot to the right of the ashtray?

Ok, I know tfhis is very basic, but I've searched the forums and can't find the answer. Since I'm a newbie at Z restoration (3 days !) I would like to see photos of stock 280Z interiors. While most of my interior components are in good condition, I'm not sure they are correct - for example, my interior is Coffee Brown, but the door arm rests are black. Is this correct? Directly behind both seats in my 71 240Z are two brackets. They have a threaded hole in the centre. They are located half way up on the vertical panel before the top lip of the rear deck. What are they for???? Got me stumped! Cheers

Hey i have just used duplicolor vinyl and fabric dye, and i used it one my perfect dash and door skins, and it has cracked my dash in 6 or 7 places, it was perfect now its ruined, i used flat black on my red dash, and its ruined, any ideas, can you repair vinyl, or do i have to get it revinyld now, any helps, please im desperate, anybody else had problesm with it?

Allright all, A few questions regarding carpet replacement. 1. What is the best replacement carpet available? 2. Does the carpet cover the areas where there is diamond vinyl/plastic? 3. Do the carpet kits cover the shock towers? 4. I recently visited a site where i saw electric blue carpet kits as well as many other colors. Can anyone lead me in the right direction again?
