I am thinking of refinishing my wheel (I have refinished lots of furntiture before), but I see in some places people calling it simulated wood. I haven't picked at it to see, but does anyone know for sure?? Did Datsun offer real wood as an option? Thanks!

In an early '71 (8/70 production date) 240Z where is the Hi/Low Beam indicator? How hard is it to replace the blub? Is there a fuse that runs only this indicator? The car failed inspection partly due to this not working and I'm figuring it is a burned out bulb.

My dash in my '72 240Z has 2 large crevasses in front of the driver and passneger. I know it is expensive to find a replacement for this and I've seen the covers that MSA sells. I don't particularly care for either of those options. So- I have been considering trying to fabricate my own dash. What kind of difficulties would I face when attempting this? Anyone done it already? What materials are best? Aluminum? Fiberglass? I think I would buy aftermarket gauges and stereo, making the dash around these. Am I crazy?:stupid: Should I just leave the dash alone? thanks!

I have an early 260z and I bought it with worn out black arm rests, so I assumed that they were original. The interior color is white. I just bought some oem black arm rests and I was just wondering since my car's interior is white, should it have white arm rests?

I know this might label me as anal retentive beyond cure, but, has anyone duplicated the flasher sticker (cross shaped sticker on the dash, just below the flasher switch)? I carefully peeled one off of my last car, but wasn't as carefull about where I put it!

I've got a very early production 240Z, and I was just looking at the seats today. They are in quite good condition (probably been recovered). In my readings about the early Z's, I've come across mention of "rewebbing" seats, and seen pictures of early seats with webbing under the seat cushion that sometimes has to be reaplaced. What year(s) was this done in? I ask due to the fact that my seats do not have the webbing - they have metal springs (see pics). They are 240Z seats - no tilting lever, just the knob to change the angle a few degrees. I know that the PO had access to a parted out 1971 240Z (I have several boxes of parts he collected from it). Could these sea…

Hi I have a '71 Z which I bought early this year and as I was cleaning up the interior I noticed there are no carpets under the seats. Is my car missing some carpeting or is some other material supposed to be there like an undercoating or sound deadening material? Thanks

I have a 1978 280Z. I find the green backlighting of my gauges very annoying. Is there anyway i could replace the bulbs or the lenses to make a bright blue showup instead of the green. Thanx. NiSMOGuy

Has anyone had experience with the MSA or Vic Brit carpet kits? I'm interested in the deluxe type, for 2 reasons: sound deadening and thermal insulation. Worth the extra cabbage?

Where do i get the cool stitched leather type of interior that i see on some of the 240z's. It is mainly around the back hatch and up in the front kick pannels by pedals.
