Hello fellow Zers' My perfect dash is developing a crack! It's about an 1/8 inch. I've been keeping a white towel over it since I got it. Does or has anybody tried to repair one of these? I remember years ago they used to advertise on t.v a vinyl repair kit but I have yet to see one. I really want to take care of this ASAP. Any help would be appreciated. Dave

The seats in my 240 were done!! so I got anothers set of re-upolstered seats from a guy put them together and installed them, they came out great except that the space between the seat cushion (where your butt goes) and the back support is about 1-1 1/2". This isn't too bad but, this is my 3rd 240 and I can't recall seeing a gap this big! Did Datsun make 2 different length connection brackets (what are those metal pieces called that hold the seats together??) Is there some other threaded holes on the sides of the seats that I missed??

Guys (and ladies) As you may know, I am currently in search of rust on my 71. I am scraping up the tar mat (so far just on passenger side) as we speak. A heat gun is helping, but still a PITA. Anyway, my plan is to get the floor completely stripped then POR-15 the heck out of it. What about the trans tunnel and the rear deck? I still have the diamond vinyl on the trans tunnel. Is it worth taking that all off and using POR-15 under that? I guess the removal is just the console then the vinyl? I have not even looked at the rear hatch area. Is it worth stripping that all down as well? Is there tar mat back there? (UGH) Current photos in my gallery as I scrape.

:classic: Well, I got my clock out and oiled it a bit as EScanlon suggested. Before I reinstall it I would like to know if it works. Is there a way to test it for a day or so to check it out without having to put it back in?

My drivers seat rocks back and forth and I can't imagine Nissan meant for this to happen. The bottom piece of metal with teeth moves up and down but only when the seat is in a normal driving position. When I lay the seat back (undrivable) it doesn't rock. See photo for the piece of metal I'm refering to (sorry but it's a bit blury). Is there an easy fix short of buying the whole set for the reclining mechanism? Thanks

These seats are from a 260Z. They look like they offer far better lateral support then the original seats in my 240Z. Are these seats stock for a 260Z or an after market add on? Thanks !

Hello friends, I want to show you my dash. 2 years ago my 240Z's restoration was completed,at that time my dash was new from the factory but it was 1972-1973 style as you know. I liked this new dash, but I was not satisfied very much.Because the hole avobe hazard switch was SO big and there was a cross marking dent for decal for hazard switch.I want my dash to look as earliest style for 1969-1970. I asked Mr.NISHI (Mr.Alan Thomas knows him well and sometimes Alan mentioned about him here). I want to call Mr.NISHI "DOCTOR of cosmetic surgery".Does it make sense?(MY english is bad so I am wondering) Any way he did a great job for my dash as looked exactly 1969-1970 sty…

I decided to gut the interior in my zed, so I could POR 15 everything. Anyway when I took the heater assembly out. I found it was being occupied by mice at one point. Anyway everything was stuffed with grass. and I guess the moisture rotted most of the metal away. I was wondering which years of zed heater assemblies are interchangable. I SHOULD HAVE PROBABLY MENTIONED THAT I HAVE A 1970 240Z WITH NO AIR. I HAVE BEEN SNOOPING AROUND, AND FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED THE HEATING IS THE SAME UNTIL 73, CAN ANYBODY CONFIRM THIS. IS THE LATER VACUUM CONTROLLED TYPE SUPERIOR IN DESIGN, IF SO, IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH THE EARLIER SETUP. THANKS

Another of those never seen in the U.S. items. The parking light switch that mounts on the early 240 console (70 to 71) which operates the separate right and left parking lights (actually that extra bulb in the tail light, and I presume also on the front light), is an enigma to me. I've heard what it does, but I've not located a picture or anyone that can describe it. If any of you Aussies or U.K. folk have a picture, or better yet a working spare that you would sell, let me know, I'll pay the shipping. Thanks in advance.
