I am using a donor dash for the metal frame so I can understand how best to install without having to tear apart my car. So let start with removing the old dash pad, there are 21 sheet metal screws that attach to hard points and a few other sheet metal screws that while not actually affixed to the pad, the do stick up into the foam. these should be removed so as not to impede the process. I was able to get19 of the 21 back in, the other two holes I was not able to locate, will have to deal with them after I pull the pad off the donor frame.

anyone out there 3D printing the 77-78 steering column cover clamshell it’s impossible to find the bottom piece and seems like it could be printed or at least something close to similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys trying to figure out the correct strut for my 70z. In the pics below the bottom strut is what came with me Z. The Z specialist that i've been going to, told me its too long for the hatch and temporally put one from a 280z on. He stated they are all the same. Since then i've bought a replacement the middle strut not knowing i need hardware also because the hardware i have doesn't work with the forked connector. In searching around for hardware I bought a cheap non functional 280z strut ( top one )for the hardware then found out the bottom bolt is welded in. Does this area near the VIN need to be painted black? I know there’s a cover over most of this but since there is some black paint on it (worn though) and it’s the only part of the frame that has paint, I wondered if I should paint it before putting the new dash on the frame. Thanks in advance!

Would it be advisable to get a 6 point harness with stock seats? According to the FIA, the shoulder straps have to rest on the seat flat, which the Z seats aren't designed for. Obviously, this includes a roll cage, don't worry. But, I would like to maximize my safety, hence the harness and cage. Would it be safe to mount a 6 point harness onto the stock seats? Could I just mount the anchor points right behind the seat, reducing the chance that they will even be resting on the seat? My other option is braum leather seats, that match pretty closely to the stock leather seats, both in color and style. Thank you!

I have scoured the internet and forums to find where I might be able to find matching brown leather, for my 206z, to no avail. I am looking for a source where I can find a few yards of matching brown leather for custom dash upholstery. I'm aware that I could just ask an upholsterer to find the best samples that match the car, but that could take weeks. So, I thought I might ask if anyone here knows a place. Thank you!

Can any body tell me how the shoulder strap clip (cheasy little plastic clip) mounts to the interior? Is it just a screw into the plastic side window frame panel or is there a threaded hole in the side widow frame? I have poked around in the hole in the plastic side window frame but haven't been able to locate a hole in the window frame itself. I find it hard to believe that it would just screw into the plastic. I need to find a solution to the belt cutting into my wife's neck! Happy wife = more money to spend on the Z :)

Hey, I know there was a post around here about how to restore and refinish a 240Z steering wheel, but for the life of me I cannot find it. I was able to find this link but I could have swore that there was another thread with pics. I just bought another steering wheel from ebay, and wanted to refinish it.

Just got the complete set lf msa 3 point seat belts for my 1972 240z. Will i be able to use the stock receivers or just the one from the kit. I read that i also have to remove the center console to fasten the buckle holder in case i wont be able to use the stock ones. Anyone?

My '86 300zx leaks at the upper right corner driver door. The OEM weatherstrip parts are discontinued. Anyone know how to repair/replace these parts?
