I am doing a full restoration of the interior and the old vinyl ripped. Has anyone used the kits from MSA or Zcarsource? If so, how was the fit and quality?

I'm about to start working on the door panels to try and repair some age damage before re covering. I thought perhaps some kind of a fiberglass repair kit from Amazon, any suggestions? Thanks, Chris

A few weeks ago I purchased a sewn-molded carpet kit from MSA, but several of the pieces did not fit and a few were actually shipped by the manufacturer as uncut, un-sewn, and un-bound flat pieces of carpet. Communication with MSA has been, ummm, slow, and after two weeks of emails and phone calls I'm not getting much traction. Does anyone have a better source for these? I'd prefer not to keep experimenting $300 at a time.

I have a 73 240z and both the hazard knob and switch seem to be fine, but the knob won't stay on. I know how to line it up and give it 1/4 turn to lock it in, but it doesn't stay. Maybe I need a longer spring?

I recently traded a pretty nice dash from a 73 240z (and other goodies) in exchange for a nice L28 engine I had laying around. A local friend is building up his 73 and had several items he scavenged over the past few years he no longer needed, so naturally they had to come live at my house. He jokingly mentioned there was a cassette player in the glove box. Yeah, some POS I'm sure.... I didn't actually look at it for several days. Just popped the glove box today, Nearly dropped my drawers! It even has a Datsun part number!! 99993 00044 Don't know if it works yet. Have to find a cassette somewhere! WHY did I throw them all out …

this is one of those hopelessly trivial questions, but does anyone know what size machine screws are needed in the sides of the console? there two on opposite sides of the shift lever, and 4 on opposite sides of the radio.

Just got a set of blue reproduction 240z door skins from www.roadsterwerx.com. Got them for a great price. According to their site, they were made by the same company that made them for the Nissan remanufacture program. As you can see in the photos the color, textures, chrome strip, and heat sealed seams are identical to the OEM skins. I can' wait to get them installed.

Hey mates It has come to that time when my interior door panel has, broken is a nice way to put it. Is there any difference between the 280z door panels? I've found replacement ones - new ones apparently - but it states they're for 77-78 280z, and mine is a 76. Is there actually a difference here? Thanks Jan

I found some threads listing differences in early and later consoles, but I'm still not sure whether or not this leather console cover will fit on my 73 US spec 240Z. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351411917054?item=351411917054&viewitem=&vxp=mtr The listing is from the UK and lists the item as being for 260Z 280Z 2+2 74-78, but the image looks just like my console. I asked the seller and they replied that if it looks the same it will fit. What do you think?

Making steady progress on the old factory sound deadener-(See previous post with great responses). Game plan is to blast or dip this project along with some new floor pans. Some of the original seam sealer just crumbles off with rust beneath it while much of it still really looks good and tight. Some came out when removing the sound deadener especially around the center tunnel. Looking forward to more great advice from all the Z experts on this great website. I am really enjoying my project although it is going slow with family and work responsibilities taking priority. Is the seam sealer actually between the metal flanges or is it just spread over the seams? Not s…

Hi All CL-Onalaska, Wa. (Southwest, WA.) I looked at two Zs. A 78 and 79. 78 is complete and the 79 has been sitting with the head off and the cyl. are full of water. Both have the usual severe rust BUT the 78 has an interior that is in very good shape. I couldn't find any cracks in the dash. Carpet, trim and seats are also very nice. Seller is asking $1800.00 OBO for both. He wants both of them gone and he doesn't want to part them out. I've got plenty on my plate at this time but was wondering what a good dash is worth. Can't seem to find any on e-bay. I'm going to pass on them for now. Maybe he'll consider parting them out if they don't sell.
