Referring to '76 280z. After dash removal my auto body repair handed me 4 hoses that he thought I should replace. Makes sense because never replaced. Anyway, I'm having trouble finding them. Think I have read that braided would be preferred?? Where does one find these hoses, braided or not?? Thanks for response.

I think the armrests on the 78 aren't that nice, and I like a minimal amount of stuff, so I saw an auction for a door pull on eBay described as "1970 - 1978" so I wondered if it would actually fit on my 1978. I can get a measurement of the distance between the 2 main mounting screws if anyone can do the same on a 240Z door pull. After that all you'd haft to do is to cover the third hole.

I own 1976 280z and after 1 1/2 yrs into restoration I finally have the dash pulled. Are there other businesses out there that do the repair on cracked, etc dashes besides Just Dashes?? I know they are very expensive to have repaired but this is the direction I want to go. Had a dash cover years ago so will not go that route again. I'm here in MN and to my knowledge no one in this regional area to do work. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks-Deb

Hey Guys...I was at a get-together with my Z club a couple of weekends ago and one of the members who's very familiar with 240s (been to many shows for many years) said he has never seen another Z with a backseat like the one in mine. My '72's original owner was an Air Force officer who had a 5 year-old son at the time he bought the car. He bought an optional backseat so he could take his wife and son for drives. The seat is made of plywood with a vinyl and foam covering, and consists of two portions. The lower cushion justs lifts out (no hardware), and the upper cushion is fastened with nuts to the upper shock towers, and also screwed into two of the holes that originall…

When I first got my 77 there was a lot to do. The normal like suspension, Interior, Rust, etc, etc……. But one of the nagging things in back of my brain was the butt-ugly ashtray. I don't smoke but I still had to look at it all the time. It were nasty. After searching for a decent replacement with no luck I decided to work it out the best I could. Wire wheel, sandpaper and steel wool. Finally painted with Rustoleum Metallic Silver and it looked pretty good considering It will only hold smallish things now. Knowing it will get a little wear and tear I put a spray coat of Polyurethane for protection. Now it looks great and I can celebrate another small victory in my …

errr... i meant insides of a rally clock oscillator. Anyways....ran across this page in japan. this guy is an electronics guru that fixed an oscillator. I had never seen the insides of one before but there sure are alot of things that can go wrong. No wonder they use so much juice. with no schematics to work with he succeeded in finding what was wrong. a burned out transistor. http://blog.goo.ne.jp/vrc-tezuka/e/250f389a49a12a856565a0c7e324e2f0 and another page where a guy took a 9$ clock and put it inside his calendar clock https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fminkara.carview…

Now we have affordable horn pad from Japan for 240Z cars now! We have JDM "Fairlady Z" type and "Datsun" type. (Die cast crest as original) http://jdm-car-parts.com/search?q=horn+pad&submit= They are also available at Motorsport Auto! Some private parts suppliers in US and Japan sell replacement ring for repair, but the fact is that form inside the horn is usually too old and falls apart when you mount or remove it off the steering wheel even after replacing the inner ring.
