Anybody now where I might find the "window felt" that attaches to the inside top of the interior door panel? It's the felt that keeps scratches from forming on the inside glass. Thx

The 3 most annoying hoses in your Z. I know there are more complete posts out there on heater replacement. I am posting this to pass on a modern alternative to the braided hoses for the heater. Unless you are going to Consourse, this is an available replacement you can get today at Autozone. That's usually when I need them. Now! No parts store has anything listed for our old cars on this, you have to just eyeball them. Here are the stock numbers: Dayco A70785 Dayco B87653 Dayco B70873 This is on a 78 280Z, yours may be similar. They are 5/8 inch. Original Hose shot: There is a third hose you cannot see in this pic. Replacement Hoses From AZ. You will need …

Hey Folks, I was just curious if anyone had ever tried to modify a Q Logic kick panel speaker enclosure for the 240 Z... I could make my own... But I'm feeling a bit lazy, and I'm hoping I could just buy something pre-made, and just modify it to fit the car kick panel area.. Thanks

Not a lot of conversation on this one but I just completed an install and really topped of my interior nicely. Great foot feel - the rest, brake, and clutch as a very aggressive topping - the gas pedal more smooth. Very high quality and several styles to choose from depending on your spend for this mod. nissan 240z Racing Pedals Easy install - remove - tape - mark - drill - install. I did cut off approx 2" of the gas pedal metal to shorten up things a little. Install time was about a little over an hour. Not sure why the gas pedal was designed so long but it was not needed that long IMO. Shipping was approx 3 weeks - made to order.

My car is a 8/70 build 240z. The control cables look like old aftermarket choke cables from an auto parts store. The outer sheathing is coiled metal, not plastic. I am missing 1 cable and another is bent up so I am thinking of replacing all 4 to regain smooth operation of everything. I am also missing a cable clamp. Can anyone verify if these are factory cables? I personally don't see any value in keeping them since their lack of function is limiting the overall function of the heating system.

Hello all, I have done some searching on how to seal the air box and the door in the air box. What I am curious about is how long these solutions lasted. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/open-s30-z-discussions/25172-changing-out-heater-core-1971-240z.html#post208917 For the door (in the thread above) folks recommended self-adhesive weather stripping for doors and windows as well as gluing a mouse pad to the door. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/interior-s30/21508-how-seal-cowl-vent-blower-motor.html For sealing the box folks were recommending plumber's putty, dum dum, A/C tape, and foam weather stripping. Can anyone report on how long these fixes have lasted? I lik…

The paint on my instrument gauges is worn and is showing up the White underneath layer of paint. What will be the correct restoration method? I believe the housing is made of plastic, correct me if i am wrong! Should i just wash it and spray a can of matte or semi gloss black spray paint? Any advice? THey are functional. I just want to make sure they look pristine.

I bought a full dash cap for my 240z -73 a year ago from Msa. Yesterday i finaly decided that i should put it in the car. It doesnt line up at all, it cant be this bad i think something must be wrong. The thing is that msa doesnt reply to my email ( have sent 4 without respons). The dash cap has a number 300 on a sticker attached to it. Does anybody know if that make it the right one for a 73?

I know this topic has been covered before, but I thought I'd post the pics and describe the steps I took while doing it. In between working on the body I have a '71 and a '72 wheel I thought I'd restore becasue they were pretty ratty looking. I did them both in case one didnt turn out well, and if they both turned out well, I'd sell one after the restore was done. I think they both turned out well. I masked off the wheel and sandblasted the spokes just enough to take most of the paint off. Then I hand sanded the spokes(with 800 then 1500), paying special attention to the holes in the '72 wheel, and the indents in the '71 wheel. I then used a rattle can of semi-gloss bl…

So I have vinyl flooring or plastic or something in my FJ cruiser and love it so much more than carpet. I am looking at something similar for my 78 280z. Has anyone done this or seen it?

At first I thought I broke the cable or the handle, but it's probably not that bad. When I pulled out the ashtray and some greasy jute material that was in there, and looked into the metal pan under it, I saw that the screw that holds the cable and lever assembly had fallen out. It was there along with a small nut, two thick plastic washers and a thin metal washer. Using a mirror and flashlight I can see what I think is the end of the cable, maybe a loop, but can't reach it with the lever in the way. Before I attempt to take it apart, wonder if there's a link to a drawing or photo of it. Tried the search feature but it didn't find it. Kind of difficult working under the a…
