OK. I'm now beating my head against the wall, after conducting numerous searches. My 240 is missing the bracket/mount, whatever you call it, where you attach the bottom of the hatch strut. The early Zs only had one strut, which probably caused a lot of the mounts to break off? I only see two holes where it once was. Was it attached with a bolt, screw or welds? I need a new on so my hatch won't decapitate me!!! Help

My 1972 Datsun 240z horn pad keeps falling from the steering Wheel. I have tried many ways of closing it so it can fit tight on the Wheel but it is quite imposible. Based on the pictures i have taken am i missing some parts to secure the horn pad or should i just purchase a Brand new replica?

Hello, I would like to try and repair the heater control panel (the part where the levers go through the slots.) On the sides of the panel there are some plastic 'legs' that probably keep the panel tight against the outer heater fascia panel. What I'm asking for is some photos from the side. From that I can rebuild the panel to what it's supposed to be like, and it'll be tight again (it rattles a little.) ThxZ

I have new door panels installed on my '73; I purchased NOS window crank handles but cannot get them to stay on the regulator. I pushed inward on the door panel as much as I could and slid the window crank handle (with the retaining pin inserted onto the back side of the handle) onto the regulator, but I don't see how I can force the retaining pin downward to secure it onto the regulator. Is there some nifty trick/tool that I need to use to get the crank handle to stay on <g>?

I don't have any metal snaps on the passenger side tunnel, where the emergency brake boot attaches to. Would anyone know how these metal snaps are connected to the tunnel? 71Z. Thank you, TimsZ

I thought I would update some information that hls30.com included in a thread he posted detailing rear view mirror restoration. That thread is now closed but you can do a search for "Rear View Mirror Restoration" for the complete article. He included a website, www.mirrorresilvering.ca, used to have his mirrors resilvered. This website is no longer in operation, but I did find a business in the northwest that does do resilvering. There website is: www.hylitemirrorandglass.com I gave them a call and they quoted me a price of roughly $70 + shipping, more than one would like, but there seem to be very few businesses that do resilvering these days. Since new mirrors …

Today while looking at e-bay at something (strange for me, I know...), and I noticed a set of leather shifter and ebrake boots from this company (Top Gaiters) from the UK. Datsun 240Z 260z 280z Leather Shift Boot E Brake New | eBay What caught my eye, was two things. Real Italian leather, 100% feedback, and CHEAP!!!! Even the shipping is cheap. $35 bucks for the pair and $9.99 shipping to my door in Western Canadia! I'm not currently in the market for a set, have no idea if these guys are worthy of my praise, but compared to "common retail" (reads MSA..) they represent significant savings if you know what I mean (IYNWIM) They have colors, and will do custom work too. …
