Found a nice SW 2 5/8" vacuum gauge that matches the stock gauges almost perfect. Since the clock doesn't work that would be the place for it. I like the stock lighting and dimmer knob. Any chance of using the stock light or modding the Stewart-Warner light to match the other gauges? Also, is it possible to get at the clock by removing the glove box liner and not the dash? I read the link from zhome.com about gauges - the photo of the back of the stock gauge makes keeping the stock gauge light seem unlikely, not sure though.

Hello all I'm planning on updating the gauges in my Z to something more modern and a bit more relaible. Does anyone know the resistance range of the fuel sending unit? I know I can replace them with something new but if I could make the stock one work it would mean less work. Thanks mates Jan

Anyone recommend a moulded carpet supplier for a 1978 car? Mine is a UK 260Z but a 1978 280Z should be the same. Anyone used any of the ebay carpet suppliers? Cheers, Steve

The armrest where it sits up against the door panel was crooked. The rubber inside the armrest made it not straight. I think most early Z's are like that. I dug out some rubber from the armrest. I dug some out from under the metal reinforcement. It bends easily. I filled it with lg. gap touch n foam. I wrapped small strips of gorilla tape around it before i filled with T n F, so it wouldn't distort. I put masking tape in bolt holes and on the armrest so i wouldn't have to scrape the T n F off of them. They turned out pretty nice. Now to paint. Will colorbond from black dragon bond enough to not wear off? Any info? Thanks, TimsZ

Does anyone make the door pull plastic chrome cover piece? The part that covers the ends of the door pull strap. Mine just fell apart.

Hey guys. So I'm putting my Z back together and I am at a hard spot. I have both the original door locks, but I'm missing one piece on one of them. You can see it in the picture below. Now, I know I can purchase a new set of locks, and it will have the same part, but I was hoping someone here MIGHT have one just laying around. . .

I want to install sound reading material to the inside of the Z BUT I plan on doing a frame off restoration on the car in the next 4 or 5 years. I have no experience with the stuff but it looks like it would be difficult to remove when the time comes. Anyone have experience with removal? Can I put it down on a temporary basis such as not using the complete whole sticky side , maybe just the corners? Or duct taping it down? Would this make it not effective for the sound proofing? Maybe I am worrying about nothing and it will just peel back up later? Thanks, Greg

My z has the original wood shift knob just no map. Does anyone sell them? Trying not to spend $50+ for a whole knob when all I need is the map. Any recommendations?

Hey folks, I am getting started on my LED dash conversion project, based on this thread. All of the items where purchased from hitlights. The LEDs can change color (and even perform animations for those who want to get in accidents) The idea is to remove the original lighting, and run the strips through each instrument. It has adhesive backing, and would attach to the green portion of this quick illustration. The strips can be cut every 3 lights, and cables can run out the original holes for the bulbs and between instruments. They will be powered from the existing leads for the bulbs as seen in the ratsun tutorial, allowing them to be controlled normally. My…

Tired of the heater, dripped coolant before I bypassed it, takes up all the foot room on the passenger side, looks crappy with all the broken plastic. Have a warm jacket and boots if it comes to that. Like having the fan, though - it helps defog the windshield in the winter, even without any heat. Can do?
