I am going to recover my door panels and need opinions on vendors quality. I am looking at Z-Specialties and Z Car Source of AZ. Prices are equal after delivery. If you have first hand knowledge of either vendor I would appreciate hearing from you or if you used another vendor. Thanks, JB

I need a new, (or very good used), set of red door panels. WHERE CAN I FIND THEM? I have seen a few sets on eBay in other colors,..but not in red and they are asking $700 to $800 for them. Why are they so high?? Where can I get a set in red??

So I am trying again to quit smoking:sick: As an added incentive I am looking into a new carpet kit. My 77 has the sloped rear deck and I would like loop, as close to stock as possible. Any recommendations?

The dash is out of my Series I to repair cracks and to install a VintageAir AC. Pulling out the old gauges, I noticed there are adjustment screws opennings on the back of the gauge. My water temp is off by about 30 degrees high and I suspect the oil gauge is reading low. Considering the gauge is 42 years old, I can understand a need to re-calibrate. Does anyone have a procedure that can be done while I got the dash apart? Which adjustment screws do what? I have a 12 volt power supply, regulated air pressure to exercise the pressure sender and hot water to perform the calibration. BTW I've found a way to maintain the fresh air/recirculation control by modifying the b…

Would it be OK to cover the holes in the interior side of the rocker panel with insulation? I think there's 6 of them about 3 or 4 inches round. Thanks

Hey everyone, I tried my luck at removing the oil pressure / water temp gauge on my 71 Datsun 240Z. I have a spare gauge (lucky me!), and the one in the dash seems to have a voltage regulator problem (the oil pressure and water temp needled) drift back and forth together in unison and there are other changes (i.e. engine is consistent). So, this weekend I looked in the FSM and tried to take out the center panel. Seemed tricky, and even with all the screws out it didn't want to come out. Not wanting to break anything or separate wires, I tried another option. The updated FSM for the '72 says use the glove box option. The glove box liner came out easy, but the oil pressure…

I'm in the process of cleaning up my steering wheel. It had a worn out leather cover on it and when I removed the cover, I found out that the foam cushion on the wheel has an area about 5 inches long where the foam has peeled away, leaving the wheel about half the original diameter. Is there a way or has anyone used any product to replace this foam cushion. I'd like to do this myself and then recover with leather. Thanks for any suggestions.

What options are there for having the 260-280 black rubber steering wheels recovered? On a related note... Anyone want to trade their black rubber 260-280 steering wheel for either a Grant or a Datsun faux wood 240 wheel? I've got one of each and would trade either one for a 260-280 wheel that I can mess with. I don't care how squishy or cottage cheesed the rubber is...

I am planning to have the webbing replaced in my seat belts. Has anyone else had this done? I found a company online that is willing to do this for $75 for each belt (i.e., $150 for both seats). I have non-retractable belts, but you '72 Z owners should also consider upgrading your inertia reel to a modern dual-sensing type.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has used the Old Air A/C kit? I hate to say it, but it seems like is a much better deal than the Vintage Air kit. http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/custom-street-rod-ac-units/700800-series-ac-systems-c-30000000_32000000_37000000.html The kits seem to be a better buy than the VA units. What do you guys think? I was thinking about using the IP-800HC.
