Hello all So cruising the junkyard recently I found a fresh air duct (the ones in the front of the Z that goes into the fender). Well I pulled it off and placed it in the Z this morning. Here's a question though. Exactly what does this thing do and how does one control its movements? Its kind of a bad idea to install things before you know what they do but hell it's held on by a bold so. Thanks Jan

I just got my hands on an old Hitachi radio that supposedly was the stock AM/FM radio in the 73-76 Z car?? It supposedly works but unfortunetly, I do not have the plug and colored wires to plug into the back of the unit and I can't seem to find any info or parts or schamatic for this model anywhere ( even online????) .I figure that somebody out there must know something bout this radio or at least enough info so that I can build my own plug and color code the 6 wires ( + the 3 wires for the antenna) HALP!!!@!

Hi. Been browsing for a couple years but this is my first post. So, first, thanks for all the great information! I'm flip-flopping between replacing my interior plastic panels or just refurbing the originals. Car is a 1970 240Z. After all the comments on the time consuming process of trim/fit/repeat for new panels, I'm wondering if all the vendors are selling panels made by the same manufacturer. I can't really believe that enough demand exists for more that one manufacturer to be making these panels. So, anyone know if they're all the same? If their are different manufacturers, any better than another? Are they correct for a Series 1 (lacking hatch side vent hole…

I recently pulled the shift lever on my '71 240Z to replace bushings. While the console was out, I decided to clean it up and repair stress cracks and 38 years of abuse. I got a new vinyl shift boot from MSA and reupholstered the hinged arm rest that I had installed in about 1972. I fiberglassed the underside of the console below stress cracks that were visible on the top side. Next, I filled the surface cracks with two part epoxy putty. I brushed away excess putty with a tooth brush so it wouldn't fill the grained surface. I tried a couple brands of paint before finding one that had the correct satin finish - $1.98 at True Value Hardware. The $8 a can name brand I t…

ok long story short when i removed my console I noticed the rubber shift boot was too small for the hole mabye 2 inch gap at one end(I have a 240z build date 9/70) the hole seems better suited for teh larger shift boot from a 72+ my question is since the later boot has holes in it is it made to be screwed down. not a problem but just want to buy once... another thing i was thinking was mabye I am missing a spacer that was suposed to be used on a series 1? or possibly the po did a auto to manual swap and that is why the hole is larger? I can snap a pic tomorrow if that would help. I just want to have the correct fitting part when I put her back together...any help would be…

I 'm replacing the rear quarter window seals and have a question. The original seals have a lip that goes completely around the interior of the window. I believe this is to cover the trim piece edges or plastic window trim. The pieces that I got from Precision don't have this lip and after getting the part number from carparts, getting the pieces from Nissan, there is no lip. What and where do I get this or what is used instead?? You can see the lip in the pics. On the right side on pic to the right.

I have a 1978 280z that I'm slowly putting back together. After I install the heat and sound prooofing I'm going to need the firewall insulation. Will the pieces that MSA, Black Dragon sell for the 240z work in the 280Z???

So, I recently acquired a 1970 Z. The previous owner decided, for some strange reason, to paint the center console with what looks like bed liner. In short, it looks pretty horrible, I was wondering if anyone knew how I could strip the paint without damaging the fiberglass console. I'd rather not have to buy a new one. Also after stripping the paint, what would be my best bet at restoring the factory finish on the console. Thanks for any info.

I'm thinking about sending my 75 dash out and having it redone. I've done some extensive searches on the forum and am in doubt about sending it to Dashboard Restorations based on the 7+ month turn around and spotty communication that some here have experienced. That's the reason for my questions about Just Dashes. Any input would be appreciated. Mine now is has 2 cracks and the PO glued a dash cover down. It doesn't look terrible but it stands out to me. I don't mind the cost but I'm very particular on the job being done perfectly (that's why I don't want to do it myself).
