A HEADS UP: Gary's U PuLl It junk yard in Binghamton, NY has 5-6 Kia Sportages. People use their weather striping to replace the WS in their 240zs (I grabbed one set - $5 each piece x5 pieces should give me WAY more than I need) I'm not there anymore so I can't grab any for you...

The previous owner of my 280z removed a few of the interior pieces, and i cant find the screws used to put them back. The removed pieces include : steering column plastics, passenger and driver side plastics at the bottom of the dash, center console, dash filler near the windshield, and the driver side door rest/handle. Does anyone know where i could find these fasteners?

I've got a 1971 240-Z that has a brand new speedo cable installed but I am getting an up/down jumping of the needle at almost any speed. The jump is about 5-8 mph so it's difficult to know how fast you are actually going, plus it's irritating. Is this an electrical or a mechanical issue? Is there a quick fix for it short of a speed rebuild? I also have a speedo issue on my 1972 240-Z. The regular odometer records mileage accurately but the trip odometer gets stuck and actually stops recording mileage after a while after I zero it out. The point at which it stops working seems to change with each tank of gas, not a particular number. I'm guessing it may be a lubrication o…

I removed the 3 screws behind the choke lever......my 73 has 2 screws below the radio that attach to the side of the tunnel....the 71 doesn't have these screws. What else is holding the console on the 71? It won't come off. Thanks. Guy

My '72 emergency brake handle was pretty beat up. I looked around a bit at buying a new one and then decided to try and fix my old one. The first picture is a severely cropped shot of the interior showing the brake handle before any work. The second picture shows the brake handle when I was done. The process was fairly simple: Sand out all the bad stuff with 100 grit, than 220. Then smooth it further using ScothBrite (burgandy grade grit) finally polishing it with my polish wheel on my bench grinder. It's hard to get a good picture of a shiny black object, but I'm pretty pleased with the result.

My Z has annoying habit of squeaking. Firstly i tought that the sound comes from pedals but soon i realised it came from the steering wheel. It does not squeak when turned BUT when driving over small bumps etc. I tested it and it makes the sound only when lifting it up or pushing the wheel down. It's very loud noise and i need to get rid of it. I cant locate the excact place where it comes, maybe you guys can help? :stupid:

I've dyed all of the plastic in my interior with SEM color coat, the stuff works absolutely fantastic. My problem now is that the two brackets that hold the back rest to the seat need to be repainted. I have the off white interior, and getting a nice match of off white spray paint to refinish the brackets hasn't been easy. I'm wondering if the SEM color coat would stick well to metal ? I have all new vinyl for the seat upholstery as well, and the SEM is very close. I'm tempted to give it a shot and was wondering if anyone else had any success with this ?

Is the seat seat frame the same on a 240z and 280z? Mine is rusted pretty bad and before I try to weld it I figured I might be able to find a better used one. Brian
