I've searched around and read the different forums regarding Radios, speakers, etc. I still have some questions though, mostly probably stemming from not having done enough research prior to ordering parts. I have a 2/'70 build date 240z. It came without the radio. I pulled the panel off in the rear, and the original speaker was there, albeit destroyed, and the power antenna was missing as well. I shied away from spending the big bucks on a Series-1 radio, and instead opted for one pulled (I believe) from a ’73. I also found a power antenna (locally) that worked, but upon later research appears to be from a 280z. Finally, I’ve ordered a set of Pioneer TS-G134…

Hello all, today while driving, I had to use the horn. When I pushed the horn pad in, I noticed it pop out of one side. After I got home I tried to push it back in (after removing the horn fuse of course) and the horn pad popped off all together and I noticed the foam inside which I assume is used to keep it in place broke off. Now I have a foam ring about 2/3 the circumference of the pad. I guess after 40 years of use it finally gave way. Does anyone have a remedy for this? Or do I need to drop $$ on a new horn pad? Thanks.

I am trying to reinstall my 1972 240Z AM/FM radio, and am having difficulty as I do not have sound. I sent the radio out to have checked and the volume control module was replaced. Also I had an ipod adpater installed into the radio which allows my ipod to override the radio when plugged in. Works great in theory, but I have no sound. I may have not connected the wires to the radio properly. It is all quite straight forward. 1. Black chord matches the black chord to the antennae. 2. 3 prong connector with interior plugs shaped like a U is plugged in. 3. Red and blue wire that merges to a single plug from the radio is connected to a blue wire near the pas…

I have installed a new shift boot on my car and while it looks great and new, it is as stiff as a board. Is there an alternative manufacturer of a black shift boot that will not feel like cardboard when I try to move my Type A shifter around. Without the boot, my car feels more gated and the shifter is very tight and snicks into gear wonderfully with little slop. The stiffness and unyeilding shift boot makes my shifter feel muddy and it pulls as the center console. I want a factory looking replacement, that is soft and supple. PS. I know MSA sells boots, but I have no idea if they are a hard leather or a soft leather.

Well between Houston's summer heat and now our harsh winter I am giving in to do the a/c repairs heat repair upgrade the blower motor (the bearings are starting to squeal anyway) another clock to put in also replace all dash lights with 4 watt bulbs while I'm at it The dash will also get the dash cap while it's out as well. Question - While I've got the dash out what else do I need to do while I'm under there?

I am preparing my dash to go back in the car and I have forgotten the orientation of the plastic ducts inside the dash (see picture). To make things worse, it appears that I have two (Drivers Side?) ducts. I have consulted the FSM and Fiche, still stuck.:stupid: Could some of you please look at yours (especially if you have a '78) and let me know? Pics, although difficult on an installed dash, would be nice. I am especially confused about the smaller hose that feeds the vent under the steering column. Thanks in advance.

I am wrapping up my interior on my '78 and it is looking like I need some of the screws for the A-Pillars, Dash Finisher, and the two long ones on the front of the Console. I would appreciate being pointed to a source or if you have some, give me a shout.
