Hello, I have a choke knob and a throttle knob on the console, yes I added a throttle knob by myself during its restoration about 3 years ago. But I have been thinking why there are 2 types of knobs? The round one is original,we know we can see it in the brochure, the square one is also from the factory but it seems later production parts? But Nov 1969 parts catalog's picture shows these knobs are square type. Which is original for my march 1970 240Z? Please see this, http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/choke.html Thank you, kats

http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=PWC Has anybody used or seen or heard anything about this kit? I am going to order some weather seals and thought since i am paying for international postage, I may as well buy up everything remotely interesting. Thanks James

Well it finally happened. To make a long story short, when I bought my Z I was informed that it was rust free. Well come to find that was not exactly true. (go figure). Under my battery tray, I'm guessing right at the top of the floor board there was a large chunk of rust. It wasn't bad at first, well it is now. Today in Tucson we had a bit of a downpour. Making my way to school I sadly had to drive the Z through a rather length ankle deep puddle. (by long I mean oh, a eight of a mile or so). Well when I got to school I checked my floor board for moisture. Well come to find, tada its wet. (Oh no:disappoin). When I arrived home I went straight for the rust spot. And come …

Hi all, Because the original shift stick and upholstery was plain ugly on my 260z, I decided to remove the console. I knew the PO had been busy making holes in the center console and ruining the whole thing. When I bought it: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000105.jpg Center console and damage... http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000726.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000708.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000732.jpg I want to cover up the holes, and make it a bit more attractable so I started my home made botch job Made some nice woo…

I am trying to gauge interest in whether there is enough interest in purchasing a set of Seat Cushion Guards. Please vote in the Poll. The results will indicate it if is economically feasible to reproduce the guards. Thanks, Keith

I'm currently trying to figure out how to mount a set of BMW seats in my Z as a relatively inexpensive upgrade. So, I did a Google search that linked to a BMW 2002 forum message thread that started with this message: "From: jeckel30 in SLC Subject: Anyone Use Datsun Seats? I have been looking around for seats that won't break the bank. I have found a pretty good set of Datsun seats from an old 240z. Does anyone have any of these types of seats in their 02? I am not opposed to fabbing up seat mounts, as I just want something that looks good and is comfortable. I have been searching for a while and I am not really wanting to pay exhorbant prices for Recaro's on eba…

These came in yesterday morning, so today i cleaned them up a bit with some Mothers leather cleaner and conditioner. Here's a side by side with the ones that were in the car when i bought it  .. Needless to say i knew i needed to do somthing about the seats, and i got these on ebay for half of what it would have cost to have the originals re-foamed and covered. They are out of a 2002 BMW 320i. All manual controls, so it will be nice i won't have to rewire anything for them, and the have height adjustment! I'll definitly post pictures of the swap when i put them in :classic:

I have been searching for some photos or a thread that describes the method by which the choke control is attached to the center console in the 73 z. My recent acquisition has the A/C temp control mounted next to the choke lever and the choke control is held in place by a bolt hiding under the A/C control. Its apperant that a PO drilled the hole for the choke bolt and the surroundings are cracking and falling apart. Photos I have been able to find are from above and it sure doesn't look like the mounting involves a bolt from above. There is also a square hole for something, which is where my a/c wires pass through to the control. What belongs there? The A/C control hou…

I finally replaced the seat belts in my 260Z. A few years back I replaced the belts in my 240Z with belts from WESCO. Pleased with doing business with them, I purchased more seat belts from WESCO. This time I went with the Roadster Retractable Seat Belt, WELR-N. It uses the roof and floor mounting points. The hardware kit (a $9.95 option) also includes two 90 degree angle brackets for the bucket seat end. These brackets put the bucket seat end in a good position for use. Installation is so easy that I'm not even going to put pictures up. Frankly, I prefer the roadster style over the 140 inch 3 point belt. It's just something to keep in mind. Z car seat belts are old and m…

Does anyone know a replacement part number for the 5 watt push in map lamp? The service manuels that I have don't give an old number to cross reference it to. Thanks!

Hey y'all! I've been away for a bit. Doing some stuff to my Frontier instead of taking care of my Z like I should. Lately I've been having some issues with the Water Temp/Oil PSI gauge combo... they only work when they want to... gauge light and all. Since I figure it's probably just a bad connection it's time to pull the dash. And since the dash is going to be out I figure I'll go ahead and do the dash crack repair. But maybe since the dash is going to be out now is the time to grab the Auto Meter gauges that I really want in my finished project... or at least figure out which gauges to get and how to install. - I'm thinking Sport Comp or Sport Comp II... but haven…
